Fighting for the environment also means coming together, listening, and learning from one another. 🌍👂
Right now, groups from Bolivia, Burkina Faso, the DRC, Haiti, Rwanda, the Philippines, and beyond are meeting virtually as part of COMIDA.

Each group shares its reality, challenges, and solutions to advance a unified social and environmental justice so we can build a world where all beings can live with dignity. 🏡

"From intern to team member in New Mexico, Alycia‘s role went from participating to becoming a thinker, creator, and facilitator. She reflected, “How can I use [this opportunity] to show the knowledge that I have to offer? How can I show who I am, where I come from, how I grew up, and the cultural knowledge in my daily work?”

Today, my time in New York is discovering another ATD Fourth World team, learning how to carry myself in ATD Fourth World settings, and showing different sides of myself. Because of all of that I am learning about myself. I discovered, “Oh, I didn’t know I could do that! Oh, I didn’t know I could be this good.” I am in conversations that I wasn’t a part of before, voicing my opinion in a way I couldn’t, adding my jazz, my spice, and growing in different ways. I did those things – something to be proud of."

Being a parent is one of the bravest and most powerful acts there is. With ATD Quart Monde, we see it everywhere in the world: parents who pass on values, who resist, who keep hope alive for their children even when life is hard.

Family is the ultimate place of resistance against poverty. And parents are its heart. On this June 1st, we celebrate all the parents who fight every day to give their children a better future. 💙
