"The Voices of D-Day" TEASER - A Normandy Institute production A first glance at the 13 terrain walks conducted by Col. Keith Nightingale for the active duty soldiers that participate in the D-Day Commemoration in Normandy. These 13 terrain walks, filmed by Henry Roosevelt, are an extraordinary walk through time with the voices, feelings and emotions of the original D Day veterans at the sites in which they fought on 6 June 1944. The legendary combat veteran and accomplished author Col (Ret) Keith Nightingale is the interlocutor for them based on the 40+ years of walking and talking with them. Nightingale addresses each key battle site with the facts but, more importantly, what the veterans told him as they described their actions and impressions of that event. Now lost to history with their passing, the film will bridge what they said and did by their own voice and the troopers of today seeking their history and place through these staff rides. The first person narratives, preserved by Col Nightingale, are a priceless insight to the truths of combat and its effect on the participants-much now lost to time. The film places the human dimension in front of the hard facts and paints a complete picture that a recount of the facts cannot do. There are full 13 Episodes !
