💡 Looking to strengthen your fundraising strategies?

Join the Opera Europa Fundraising Forum Meeting at Oper Leipzig from 16–18 November 2026 for three days of peer exchange, expert insights and practical workshops on the future of fundraising in the performing arts.

The programme will explore institutional readiness, fundraising team structures, donor engagement, public and private funding sources and fundraising strategies, with contributions from leading European cultural organisations and fundraising professionals.

✨ Our director Edilia Gänz will moderate the session “Public and Private Funding Sources”, bringing together perspectives from Barbara Gessler (Head of the European Commission’s Representation in Germany),
Elisabeth Brunmayr (Stiftung zur Förderung der Hamburgischen Staatsoper), and Marisa Vázquez Shelly (Teatro Real).

The programme will also include peer speed-dating, open discussions, a tour of Oper Leipzig and opportunities to attend performances including La Bohème, Die Zauberflöte and Der Hase mit den Bernsteinaugen.

📣 Join us at RESEO Conference 2026 in Brussels!

From 15 to 17 October, the RESEO Conference 2026 – Making Noise: The Future That We Want will bring together cultural professionals, artists, educators and practitioners at La Monnaie / De Munt to explore the future of arts education, participation and social impact.

On Thursday 15 October, participants will have the opportunity to take part in a dance workshop with dancers from "Yallah Danse!", winner of the FEDORA Education Prize 2025, discovering the artistic practice behind the project through movement and expression. 💃

The programme will also feature the panel “Funding the arts: Foundations, donors and corporate partners”, in which our director Edilia Gänz will take part as a speaker, exploring new funding models and the role of foundations, individual donors and corporate partners in supporting arts education, participation and social impact projects.

🌍 Poetry meets opera and dance across Europe

Earlier this year, we announced our collaboration with , a European poetry platform, creating new encounters between poetry, opera and dance around FEDORA Prize-winning productions.

✨ Since then, two poets have attended FEDORA Prize-winning performances, experiencing the works first-hand and gathering inspiration.

🎭 Their experiences are now taking shape through original poetic responses, capturing impressions, emotions and reflections inspired by what they encountered on and beyond the stage.

🖋️ The first poem of the series is coming soon.

Through this collaboration, we are exploring how poetry can extend the life of a performance beyond its fleeting moment on stage, creating new spaces for artistic dialogue, reflection and exchange across Europe.

🎭 A timeless comedy returns to the Opéra national de Paris

This season, our member Opéra national de Paris brings The Barber of Seville back to the stage of the Opéra Bastille, in a sparkling and playful production directed by Damiano Michieletto, as of 12 September.

Rossini’s iconic comic opera follows the quick-witted Figaro as he helps Count Almaviva win the heart of Rosina, navigating disguises, schemes and the watchful eye of her guardian, Doctor Bartolo.

A delightful combination of virtuoso singing, irresistible melodies and comic energy, The Barber of Seville remains one of opera’s most beloved works.

🌱 Join us for the first session of our Sustainability Workshop Series!

We are kicking off our five-part series on 22 September with a workshop on Modular Stage Construction.

Through these workshops organised by Theatre Green Book, our expert partner on sustainable approaches in collaboration with Opera Europa, European Theatre Convention, Renew Culture, and FEDORA Platform, we will bring together performing arts professionals to exchange knowledge and explore practical approaches to sustainability.

🎭 Discover how reusable and interchangeable set pieces can help reduce material waste and extend the lifespan of scenic elements.

💬 The online workshop will feature three speakers, followed by Q&A and breakout discussions, an opportunity to share experiences, challenges and ideas with colleagues across the sector.

✨ A new season begins at the Opéra national de Paris

We are delighted to see our member the Opéra national de Paris open the 2026/2027 season on 9 September with “Perle noire: Meditations for Joséphine” a tribute to Joséphine Baker, to mark the 120th anniversary of her birth.

Created by composer and jazz musician Tyshawn Sorey, with director Peter Sellars and soprano Julia Bullock with a libretto by Claudia Rankine, the production looks beyond Baker’s iconic image to explore her inner world, her complex relationship with identity, her fight for freedom and civil rights, and her remarkable legacy.
