🎉 Every time we have to update the cover image, it's a moment of joy – it means our family keeps growing! And there's nothing quite like the feeling when we get to colour in a brand new country on the map.

Today is one of those days. 🇸🇰

We are delighted to welcome Šafárik Press as our 58th member, and the very first from Slovakia!

Founded at Univerzita Pavla Jozefa Šafárika v Košiciach in Košice, this new member brings Slovak academic publishing into the AEUP, expanding our reach across Europe one country at a time.

Welcome aboard, Šafárik Press! We look forward to a fruitful collaboration. 🎓📚

📢 One week to go!

The first AEUP Roundtable is happening in just 7 days — "Making sense of open access standards for monographs" with Laura Bandura-Morgan (OAPEN, DOAB).

If your metadata could use a refresh, this is your chance: Laura will share practical, hands-on tips for getting subject classification, contributor information, and persistent identifiers right — the kind of infrastructure that makes your OA monographs genuinely discoverable and funder-compliant.

Expect real-world insight from DOAB and OAPEN, an informal setting, and plenty of time for your own questions. No recording, no formality — just a good conversation around a shared table.

Don't miss the chance to walk away with concrete steps to strengthen your publishing metadata!

Publishing is one of Europe’s largest cultural industries, yet university presses and institutional publishers remain largely invisible in data, policy, and infrastructure debates. While commercial scholarly publishing is extensively documented, the diverse, non-profit, institutionally embedded publishing landscape is not.

To address this gap, AEUP launches a Europe-wide survey mapping university presses and other institutional publishers.
