History
The AIPP was founded in 1964 by several magazine publishers. Roberto Pissimiglia (Estetica, Italy) became president in 1992 with the aim of modernizing and promoting the organization on a global scale. After 28 years of service, Roberto Pissimiglia stepped down as AIPP President in 2020. Having worked for many years as AIPP Vice President, Mike Vincent (TRIBU-TE) was appointed AIPP President in January 2021.

With the AIPP Awards ceremony set to take place on Sunday, November 15th, during LOOK at IFEMA Madrid, we are giving participants more time to enter! 🙌

The deadline for the AIPP Awards 2025-2026 has now been extended until June 15th, allowing hairdressers, salons and creative teams from around the world extra time to submit their collections and videos 🗓️

Winner of an AIPP Award in 2021, her creativity, generosity, and light will live on through her work and in all those she inspired 🤍

Tony Rizzo MBE honored with the AIPP Hair Legend of the Year Award in Madrid 🏆

Before an audience of more than 900 hairdressing professionals, the international icon .mbe was celebrated in Madrid as he received the prestigious AIPP Hair Legend of the Year Award 🤩

The AIPP Hair Legend of the Year Award was presented by Mike Vincent, President of the AIPP, and Sergi Bancells, the Association’s General Secretary, during the spectacular Effervescene Show at Salón Look IFEMA Madrid, where Tony and his wife Maggie Rizzo were met with a moving standing ovation from the entire audience ❤️

Visibly emotional, Tony addressed the crowd with heartfelt words that deeply resonated throughout the room: “I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. You’ve made me cry, but our profession is emotional — our work every day in the salons is emotional. Our industry moves on passion, and you give us the strength to keep going. But this award is, above all, for my wife Maggie, because she is the one who truly deserves it after all these years.” 🙏
