Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Palau to Unesco Welcome to the official page of the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Palau to UNESCO. The Republic of Palau joined UNESCO in 1999.

The Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Palau represents the interests of the Palauan government and its policies with regard to UNESCO issues, especially on ocean policy and environmental conservation. On 24 March 2014, Palau joined the IOC which brings to 147 the membership of the Commission, among which 34 Member States are Small Island Developing States. Palau belongs to electoral group IV.
