The Legacy of Sonia Vanular

Who would ever think that a vision and passion of our profession in 1974 would still grow 49 years later to more than 1100 members in over 30 countries (and counting…)?

Sonia Vanular had this vision and founded the EAPS:

⭐to encourage support professionals to develop their role,
⭐to recognize the value of the profession,
⭐that we are all worthy of the profession,
⭐to grow and meet the changes and requirements of the profession.

The name changed in 1998 to EUMA and finally in 2017 to IMA and Sonia saw the growth of her beloved association. She was very passionate, supportive, and active in our profession until her passing on 26 August 2020 at the age of 98.

IMA - International Management Assistants is today the only international network for management professionals, and we would not have been here without the vision of Sonia.

Let’s continue to honor this beautiful legacy of Sonia Vanular, especially on her upcoming birthday – September 23rd!
