🔴🎙️ “If we ensure the survival of the story, then we can protect the life of the journalists”.

Laurent Richard, founder of Forbidden Stories, was invited to speak last weekend at the Logan Symposium at UC Berkeley in California in front of many US investigative journalists and executives.

At a time when threats against the press are intensifying worldwide, there is strength in numbers.

When reporting on sensitive topics, collaboration becomes more than a method. It can serve as a form of protection and deter enemies of the press: it is far harder to simultaneously silence many journalists working together.

🎙️🇲🇽 “Independant journalism has the potential to make people’s lives better. If we depend only on a local protection mechanism it will not be enough sadly. What we need is more international collaboration, with organizations like Forbidden Stories”.

In an interview with Australian magazine , Mexican journalist and member Jesús Ibarra calls on reporters around the world to join forces in the face of threats.

👉 In April 2024, Jesús Ibarra joined more than 250 journalists at risk who secure their sensitive data through Forbidden Stories’ network. He has made his affiliation to the SafeBox public to deter potential threats related to his reporting.

📰 With our international media partners, we will ensure their investigations continue if they are ever silenced.
