𝗕𝗜𝗠𝗟 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿'𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲
In this short video, Anthony Donnellan brings this year’s theme “𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆: 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴” to life through real examples – from protecting public health and ensuring safety, to managing energy systems, monitoring the environment, and supporting everyday transactions.

It’s a simple reminder that trust in decisions is built on trust in the measurements behind them – supported by long-term consistency, comparability, and international collaboration.

This new edition supersedes D 11:2013, and has been approved by the CIML using the 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹 procedure – a faster alternative to the traditional multi-step approval process (Preliminary Online Ballot followed by formal voting at the CIML meeting).

This is only the second time the fast-track mechanism has been used in recent years, and successfully demonstrates its value in enabling timely updates to widely used OIML documents.

OIML D 11 is a cornerstone document in legal metrology, widely referenced for assessing the influence of environmental conditions on measuring instruments. The 2026 revision ensures continued alignment with current technologies and practices, supporting the reliability and performance of measuring instruments worldwide.

Our sincere thanks go to all the experts, Technical Committee members, and CIML members who contributed to this revision.
