💡Do you want to learn more about the conflict between Morocco and the Western Sahara? 🇪🇭🇲🇦
In 1975, Spain eneded the occupation of Western Sahara but without completing the independience process, allowing Moroccan forces to occupy the territory. Since then, the Sahrawis have been fighting for their independence.
🗣️The student think tank Terra Nova will meet with a human rights and anti-colonial activist from the Sahara, Tesh Sidi, currently deputy in the Spanish Congress.
⏰The meeting will be on tuesday 6 February at 18h online.
❗The event will be open to all Sciences PO students, as well as to the general public. No registration needed. You may join through the QR code!

📝 New paper!

The president of the association, Lucía de Castro .dcr addresses here a central debate on the security and war studies: can drones be used in accordance with Internacional Law?

The paper explores the ethical implications through the case study of Pakistan, which was a non-battlefield zone and therefore, polemic. It argues that drones pose important ethical concerns since they facilitate the use of force, undermining diplomatic solutions.

The Paris Peace Forum took place on 10-11 November 2023 with the slogan of "seeking common ground in a world of rivalry".
The topics of this edition ranged from climate change, AI, international security, north-south dialogue, etc.
The event served as a platform for open discussions and exchange of ideas on a wide range of issues. It revolved around finding cosensus in an increasingly complex world, with a particular emphasis on diplomacy, sustainable development and the promotion of peace.

More than a thousand participants from diverse backgrounds attended, including our colleague Orkhan Talibov ( ) who is sharing the main insights of the event.

In France 2022, young people living in houses of business leaders, liberal professions or high intellectual professions voted more during the presidential elections than those who come from working classes.
Given this unequal participation, democratic education at school is fundamental.

🙋‍♀️ .dcr student of International Security, is the President of the association as well as the Head of International Affairs. She will work to make the think tank a meeting point for young researchers in which to debate ideas, always with respect and rigor, in order to grow intellectually together.
