Evelina Dimova is a cook and a curator based in Paris working at the intersection of food, fashion, heritage, and sustainability.

Although she studied economics and psychology, she ended up spending six years in the fashion industry, and then moved to cooking in a Paris restaurant all the while not abandoning her love for clothes. She continues to curate and share her wonderful taste with the world.

This interview is for anyone trying to keep multiple creative practices alive without burning out or choosing between things they love.

Yesterday we had our last Network of Empathy circle with the overall theme on collective empathy. For this we invited an Indonesian social activist, F***y S Alam who called in from Bandung and who talked about his work at the NGO BSOP Indonesia which tries to bridge diversity and differences through dialogue.

It's not always easy to stay open-hearted especially as we live through a period where there is an influx of information, that is targeted and curated and can often present extreme or misleading views.

After our story-teller session our audience had their chance to share opinions and reflections.

Maria, who has joined us previously as a storyteller and this time as a circle participant, offered her personal approach:

"I try to first become self-aware and something I realize when I face something that involves a disagreement is that I feel ti first in my body. I try to tune into my body and identify what part of my body is feeling it, and I try to ask myself why this is triggering me. Instead of accusing the other person, I try to ask questions to get to a deeper level of understanding"

Welcome to the Network of Empathy!

We all experience deeply human emotions which allow us to connect to each other. Too often in our daily lives this simple truth seems to escape our minds. With the creation of the Network of Empathy we want to share experiences and engage in an open dialogue on empathy.

Although everyone of us is different and we might sometimes not feel very significant, at the end of the day, we can gain strength and reassurance from reaching out and connecting with each other. We believe that there is power in that, as empathy is the foundational block of strong societies and an enabling factor in tackling the local and global challenges that we all face.
