As part of the Federation for European Education Human Rights Prize 2026, the First Prize in Category B was awarded to students from ESJO' - Enseignement Supérieur Saint-Joseph Dijon (France) for their project:
🏆 “The Dangers of Digital Technology for Vulnerable Populations”

Through a powerful awareness campaign summarised in a video, the students explored the risks associated with digital technologies for vulnerable groups, highlighting issues such as misinformation, online manipulation, cyberbullying and digital exclusion.

🌍 In an increasingly connected world, digital literacy and the responsible use of technology have become essential components of active citizenship and the protection of human rights.

👏 Congratulations to Noa Pozzo Di Borgo, Korantin Horuckowa, Oneida Maillard and Enzo TACCOLINI, whose project impressed the Jury through its relevance, educational value and societal impact.

Their work is a reminder that raising awareness and promoting critical thinking are key to building a safer and more inclusive digital environment for all.

Dans le cadre du Prix FEDE des Droits Humains 2026, le Premier Prix de la catégorie B a été décerné aux étudiants de l’ESJO Dijon (France) pour leur projet :
🏆 « Les dangers du numérique auprès des populations dites à risque »

À travers une campagne de sensibilisation synthétisée dans une vidéo, les étudiants ont mis en lumière les risques que peuvent représenter les usages numériques pour les publics les plus vulnérables : désinformation, manipulation en ligne, cyberharcèlement ou encore fracture numérique.

🌍 Dans un monde toujours plus connecté, l’éducation au numérique, l’esprit critique et la compréhension des enjeux liés aux technologies sont devenus des leviers essentiels de citoyenneté et de protection des droits humains.

👏 Félicitations à Noa Pozzo Di Borgo, Korantin Horuckowa, Oneida Maillard et Enzo Taccolini, dont le projet a particulièrement retenu l’attention du Jury par sa pertinence, sa qualité pédagogique et son impact sociétal.

Leur initiative rappelle l’importance de sensibiliser chacun aux usages responsables du numérique afin de construire un environnement digital plus sûr, plus inclusif et plus respectueux des droits fondamentaux.

Federation for European Education at the 16th EPAN Plenary Meeting of the Conseil de l'Europe 🇪🇺

On 19 and 20 May 2026, the FEDE was represented by Xavier Paroutaud, our Pedogical Director, at the 16th Plenary Meeting of the Education Policy Advisers Network (EPAN) of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, where it participated as an observer.

Discussions focused on key developments for the future of education in Europe, including the European Space for Citizenship Education (ESCE), the emerging principles for Education for Democratic Citizenship, and the future quality framework supporting their implementation.

At a time when European societies are facing significant democratic challenges, these discussions serve as a reminder that citizenship, participation and critical thinking are not abstract concepts: they must be nurtured through concrete educational policies and practices.

🤝 Through its participation, the FEDE continues to contribute to European reflections on democratic culture, inclusion, digital citizenship and the development of learners as active and responsible citizens.

La FEDE à la 16e réunion plénière du réseau EPAN du Conseil de l'Europe 🇪🇺

Les 19 et 20 mai 2026, la FEDE était représentée par Xavier Paroutaud, notre Directeur pédagogique, à Strasbourg lors de la 16e réunion plénière du réseau EPAN (Education Policy Advisers Network) du Conseil de l'Europe, à laquelle elle participait en qualité d'observateur.

Les échanges ont porté sur plusieurs chantiers structurants pour l'avenir de l'éducation en Europe, notamment l'Espace européen pour l'éducation à la citoyenneté (ESCE), les principes en cours d'élaboration pour l'éducation à la citoyenneté démocratique ainsi que le futur cadre qualité associé.

À l'heure où les sociétés européennes sont confrontées à des tensions démocratiques profondes, ces travaux rappellent une exigence simple : la citoyenneté, la participation et l'esprit critique ne relèvent pas du discours, mais d'un engagement éducatif concret.

🤝 À travers sa participation, la FEDE poursuit son engagement dans les réflexions européennes relatives à la culture démocratique, à l'inclusion, à la citoyenneté numérique et à la formation d'apprenants acteurs de la société.

Since the 1st June, hundreds of students from Federation for European Education member institutions have begun their written examination session, which will continue until 19 June 2026.

These exams follow the start of the oral examination period on 11 May, marking the culmination of months of learning, commitment and hard work.

👏 The FEDE would like to wish every student the very best of luck during this important stage of their academic journey.

Whatever the discipline, each examination is an opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and determination developed throughout the year.

A special thank you also goes to the teachers, examiners and educational teams who support students throughout this examination period.

Depuis le 1er juin, des centaines d’étudiants des établissements membres de la FEDE ont débuté leur session d’examens écrits, qui se poursuivra jusqu’au 19 juin 2026.

Ces épreuves font suite au lancement de la session des examens oraux le 11 mai, point d’aboutissement de plusieurs mois de travail, d’apprentissage et d’engagement.

OECD-OCDE Report – Reimagining Teaching in an Accelerating World 🎓🌍

The OECD has recently published a report titled “Reimagining Teaching in an Accelerating World”, exploring how the teaching profession is evolving in response to rapid societal, technological and economic transformations.

📚 The report highlights a key challenge:
the question is no longer whether teaching is changing — it already is — but how education systems can actively shape this transformation rather than simply react to it.

Among the main themes explored:
🔹 Supporting teachers in navigating uncertainty and change
🔹 Strengthening the human dimension of education: trust, collaboration and relationships
🔹 Rethinking pathways into the teaching profession in a world of longer and less linear careers

L’OCDE a récemment publié un rapport intitulé « Reimagining Teaching in an Accelerating World », consacré à l’évolution du métier d’enseignant face aux transformations rapides de nos sociétés.

📚 Le rapport souligne un enjeu central :
la question n’est plus de savoir si le métier évolue — c’est déjà le cas — mais comment les systèmes éducatifs peuvent accompagner et orienter cette transformation plutôt que la subir.

IAU 2025 Report – Higher education facing global transformations 🎓

The International Association of Universities (IAU) of which the FEDE is a member has published its 2025 Report, highlighting its actions and priorities in support of higher education worldwide.

Throughout 2025, the IAU strengthened its engagement through:

🔹 International webinars and dialogue initiatives
🔹 Closer collaboration with its global membership network

The report also reaffirms four major strategic priorities for higher education:

Federation for European Education Human Rights Prize 2026 – Spotlight on Habibou laye Balde from Groupe ISM Dakar 🎓

As part of the FEDE Human Rights Prize 2026, the Jury awarded the Category A First Prize ex aequo to Habibou Laye BALDE, student at ISM Dakar, for his project
🎬 “Enfants de l’ombre” — a mini-documentary dedicated to children’s right to education in Senegal.

Through this committed and impactful project, Habibou Laye BALDE highlights the realities faced by children who still struggle to access education, while reminding us that education remains a fundamental human right.

Prix FEDE des Droits Humains 2026 – Focus sur Habibou Laye BALDE de ISM Dakar 🎓

Dans le cadre du Prix FEDE des Droits Humains 2026, le Jury a attribué le Premier Prix ex aequo de la catégorie A à Habibou Laye BALDE, étudiant à ISM Dakar, pour son projet :
🎬 « Enfants de l’ombre » — un mini-documentaire consacré au droit des enfants à l’éducation au Sénégal.

À travers ce projet engagé et particulièrement touchant, Habibou Laye BALDE met en lumière les réalités vécues par des enfants encore privés d’accès à l’éducation, tout en rappelant que l’éducation demeure un droit humain fondamental.

Federation for European Education contributes to Conseil de l'Europe discussions on AI and education 🤖🎓🇪🇺

On 20 April 2026, the FEDE participated in the online meeting of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on Artificial Intelligence and Education (EDU-IA), represented by Corentin Le Got from EiG Monaco.

Bringing together representatives from Member States, the European Commission, UNESCO and the Council of Europe, the meeting focused on several major initiatives shaping the future of AI in education.

Key discussions included:
🔹 A Policy Toolbox for AI and Education, designed to support decision-makers and institutions through tools, case studies and implementation guidance
🔹 Preparatory work on a possible legal instrument regulating AI systems in education
🔹 The development of a European Reference Framework for the evaluation of educational technologies, based on pedagogical, ethical and democratic criteria
🔹 Future guidelines on educational data and learning analytics, to strengthen transparency, governance and protection for learners

🌍 The Committee also supported several cross-cutting initiatives, including the launch of the EduTalks series and the creation of a European repository of AI-in-education initiatives.

🤝 Through its participation, the FEDE continues to contribute to European reflections on the use of artificial intelligence, digital transformation and the future of education.

La FEDE contribue aux réflexions du Conseil de l’Europe sur l’IA et l’éducation 🤖🎓🇪🇺

Le 20 avril 2026, la FEDE a participé à la réunion en ligne du Comité d’experts sur l’intelligence artificielle et l’éducation (EDU-IA) du Conseil de l’Europe, représentée par Corentin Le Got de l’école EIG Monaco.

Réunissant des représentants des États membres, de la Commission européenne, de l’UNESCO et du Conseil de l’Europe, cette réunion a permis d’avancer sur plusieurs chantiers majeurs liés à l’avenir de l’IA dans l’éducation.

Parmi les principaux sujets abordés :
🔹 Une boîte à outils politique pour l’IA et l’éducation, destinée à accompagner les décideurs et établissements grâce à des outils et des cas d’usage
🔹 Les travaux préparatoires autour d’un futur instrument juridique encadrant l’usage de l’IA dans l’éducation
🔹 Le développement d’un cadre européen de référence pour l’évaluation des technologies éducatives, fondé sur des critères pédagogiques, éthiques et démocratiques
🔹 Des lignes directrices sur les données éducatives et les learning analytics, afin de renforcer la transparence, la gouvernance et la protection des apprenants

🌍 Le Comité a également soutenu plusieurs initiatives transversales, dont le lancement de la série EduTalks et la création d’un répertoire européen des initiatives IA dans l’éducation.

🤝 À travers cette participation, la FEDE poursuit son engagement dans les réflexions européennes sur l’usage de l’intelligence artificielle et l’avenir de l’éducation.

Federation for European Education Human Rights Prize 2026 – Celebrating student engagement in Marrakech 🕊️

On 23 April 2026, during the FEDE General Assembly in Marrakech, the FEDE Human Rights Prize Ceremony brought together students, institutions and partners committed to promoting human rights through education.

Held under the patronage of JAVIER GOMEZ PRIETO, Ph.D, Head of the Conseil de l'Europe Office in Morocco, and hosted by Claude Vivier Le Got, this year’s edition confirmed the growing international reach of the Prize.

🌍 In 2026, the FEDE received 36 applications from 17 member institutions across 8 countries.

🏆 The Jury awarded:
🔹 11 prizes in Category A
🔹 7 prizes in Category B
🔹 40 student laureates from 10 institutions across 5 countries

Prix FEDE des Droits Humains 2026 – À Marrakech, l’engagement étudiant mis à l’honneur 🕊️🎓

Le 23 avril 2026, à l’occasion de l’Assemblée Générale FEDE à Marrakech, la cérémonie du Prix FEDE des Droits Humains a mis à l’honneur des étudiants et établissements engagés en faveur des droits humains à travers l’éducation.

Parrainée par Javier GOMEZ PRIETO, Chef du Bureau du Conseil de l’Europe au Maroc, et animée par Claude Vivier Le Got, cette édition a confirmé le rayonnement international croissant du Prix.

🌍 En 2026, la FEDE a reçu 36 candidatures provenant de 17 établissements membres issus de 8 pays.

Federation for European Education at the Board Meeting of the CERCLE RICHELIEU SENGHOR DE PARIS 🇫🇷🌍

On 27 April 2026, Claude Vivier Le Got, Chairwoman of the FEDE, attended the Board Meeting of the Cercle Richelieu Senghor at the Palais du Luxembourg in Paris.

The meeting addressed key topics related to the organisation’s development and activities, including:

🔹 Preparations for the 2026 activities programme
🔹 Discussions on the Prix Richelieu Senghor 2026
🔹 Membership and organisational matters

FEDE at the ELNE Annual Conference 2026 🇪🇺🎓

On 7 May 2026, the Federation for European Education took part in the Educational Leadership Network Europe (ELNE) Annual Conference 2026 in Brussels, represented by Ruxandra Stroe, Deputy Director of Education at the FEDE, alongside Sophie Geyssant from IRUP France, a FEDE member institution.

Co-funded by the European Union, the ELNE is the largest European education network, bringing together more than 60 partner organisations across 27 countries.

This year’s conference, “Contextualising Collaborative Leadership Across Europe: From Stakeholder Perspectives to Action”, contributed to the finalisation of the ELNE 2026 Policy Recommendations on collaborative educational leadership, aimed at informing both European and national education policies.

The day featured high-level interventions from Diana Jablonska (European Commission – DG EAC) and Beatriz Pont (IIEP-UNESCO), whose keynote on tools for education policy reforms particularly stood out.

🤝 Alongside its institutional partner European Federation of Education Employers (EFEE) the FEDE actively contributed to discussions within the education employers’ group, highlighting the voice of private higher professional education and VET institutions, as well as the importance of citizenship competences, central to the FEDE mission.

La FEDE à l’ELNE Annual Conference 2026 🇪🇺🎓

Le 7 mai 2026, la FEDE a participé à l’ELNE Annual Conference 2026 à Bruxelles, représentée par Ruxandra Stroe, directrice pédagogique adjointe de la FEDE, accompagnée de Sophie Geyssant de l’IRUP, école membre de la FEDE.

Co-financé par l’Union européenne, l’Educational Leadership Network Europe (ELNE) est le plus grand réseau éducatif européen, réunissant plus de 60 organisations partenaires dans 27 pays.
