📣 On this closing day of the second International Migration Review Forum (IMRF), civil society continues to strongly reaffirm the critical importance of multilateralism and the cooperative framework enshrined in the Global Compact for Migration (GCM).

Today, we are compelled to highlight a stark lack of tangible progress as we assess the realities on the ground today. Rather than advancing toward our shared goals, we are witnessing a severe global regression in the human and labour rights of migrants.

Today, once again, we must at the absolute minimum draw a firm line against any further regression of migrants’ rights. It is imperative that governments and stakeholders unequivocally reaffirm a rights-based approach to migration and multilateral cooperation - one that remains strictly anchored in the normative United Nations framework of human rights and the international labour standards of the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The Civil Society Action Committee Declaration ‘A Civil Society Line Against Regression: Recommitting to Rights-Based Multilateralism’ is an urgent call to action and to course correct.

This week, the International Migration Review Forum 2026 begins in New York City — and for the first time, the International Domestic Workers Federation is participating with a coordinated global delegation.

We are here to bring forward what matters most: the voices, experiences, and demands of across our movement.

From access to rights and protections, to recognition, dignity, and justice, migrant domestic workers must be at the center of migration policies and decisions that shape their lives.

📣 Follow our journey throughout the Forum and stand with us by amplifying our collective message.
