with the most amazing group of people actually making a difference. Walking the walk, not only talking the talk.

One incredible organization led by is The Ocean Cleanup . Pulling thousand of tons of plastic out of rivers and the sea. Making strides in cleaning the mess created by so much plastic in our waters.

Do you know that 1% of the rivers are responsible for 80% of the plastic in the Ocean? Yes! That’s why it’s so critical that we stop the flow there!

Follow them, support them, share their work! Boyan is quite a role model and inspiration for those young people that feel the issues are too big to solve.

So many things to work on, so many crises, so much need… and yet so many good people working to make things better and to protect our Blue!!!! Inspiring!

Big shout out to our friend who is deeply committed to stop deep sea mining, a dangerous activity that will totally destroy the sea bed of of our oceans, put our whales in peril , destroy our Arctic, which is key for life in this planet and do irreversible damage to all life underwater. Follow her and read her book . Support her if you can. You will not be disappointed! She rocks.

🌊 Today is World Ocean Day 🌍

The ocean covers over 70% of our planet — it connects us, sustains us, and breathes life into everything we do. From regulating the climate to providing food, culture, and livelihoods, the ocean is a vital thread that runs through all existence.

But it’s under threat — from climate change, pollution, overfishing, and neglect. Our ocean — the beating blue heart of this planet — is suffocating.

On this day, we stand in solidarity with communities, scientists, sailors, conservationists, and everyday ocean lovers who are working to protect and restore our blue planet.

Industrial overfishing. Deep-sea mining. Plastic pollution. Dead zones. Warming waters. This is not just environmental degradation. This is violence against life itself.

But we are not powerless.
🛑 We can demand a moratorium on deep-sea mining.
🛑 We can hold corporations accountable for plastic and oil spills.
🛑 We can push governments to create and enforce marine protected areas.
🛑 We can protect Indigenous maritime rights and support coastal communities on the frontlines.

The ocean needs our solidarity.
Our activism. Our courage.

This is not a day for hashtags. It’s a day to organize. The tide is rising — and so must we. 🌊✊

Today, we pause to recognize the undeniable thread that connects us all — our planet. Nature isn’t just a backdrop to our lives; it is the source of our health, our inspiration, our future.

Whether through bold innovation, daily habits, or deeper respect for traditional ecological knowledge, we all have a role to play.

🌿 Let today be a reminder:
We are not separate from nature. We are part of it.

Particularly sailors live by the wind, read the sea, and navigate by nature’s rhythms. The ocean is our playground, our teacher, and our responsibility.

On this World Environment Day, we’re reminded that protecting the planet isn’t optional — it’s essential. The health of our waters, the clarity of our skies, and the resilience of our ecosystems directly shape the future of sailing.

Let’s be the generation that restores what we love. Let’s sail not just with skill — but with purpose.

Every day, journalists face increasing risks — threats, censorship and violence — simply for reporting the truth. In 2024, 82 lost their lives in the course of their work, compared to 74 in 2023.

There is increasing concern of growing threats to journalists and other media professionals, including online and offline intimidation and attacks, arbitrary detention, legal persecution and transnational repression, all aimed at silencing their work. Emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, can intensify these risks by enabling pervasive surveillance and targeted harassment.

Only through journalism do we see the full picture: a clearer understanding of the world, grounded in facts, independence and integrity. On this World Press Freedom Day, let’s take a moment to honor all those who bring facts to light – despite the danger.
