A message from James Post, newly elected President of Sister Cities of Houston, Texas!
With heartfelt congratulations to James and Anna Post!
. "Tonight Anna and I have been entrusted with a great responsibility. We have both been elected as Officers for Board positions with Sister Cities Houston, starting in 2025. Anna will be serving as Board Secretary, and I will be serving as Board President.

Sister Cities Houston is part of the Sister Cities International program founded in 1956 by President Dwight Eisenhower. Our mission is to promote cultural and economic ties between cities around the world through the spirit of Citizen Diplomacy.

Houston, being a truly global city and the most diverse city in the United States, has been an active participant in this program since our first Sister City relationship was established with Taipei in 1961.


Houston now has 19 Sister Cities, including Perth, Australia. As members of the Australian American Chamber of Commerce Texas, Anna (who lived in Perth for 20 years) and I were asked by our Director and friend, Amy Conacher to help our organization and our represented city. We are honored to take on the responsibility of not only representing Perth and Houston; but for all of our global friends and partners.

We are very excited to work with our fellow Officers elected tonight, and with our current and newly-elected At-Large Board members. I cannot wait to tell you all about them as well!

We are grateful for the support and guidance of those who are passing the torch to us. We will strive to earn that trust every day.

These remarkable women and mothers have benefited from our Be Peace - Be Hope wellbeing program, made possible through our partnership and collaboration with FAM Houston.

The singers of Healing Melodies hail from Rwanda and Congo, having fled their countries due to war, conflict, and violence. Now calling Houston their home, they find solace and strength in singing. This musical expression helps them overcome life's challenges. They are passionate about sharing their music with others, as it fosters community, allows for the positive release of emotions, uplifts, and spreads joy. ☀

Together, let's celebrate the powerful forces of Peace, Love, Joy, and Hope that drive us forward. Heartfelt thanks to Yvonamor Palix Fine Arts, Yvonamor Palix and all of our partners, including FAM Houston and Be Peace - Be Hope for creating a space where we can rejoice and uplift each other.
