Advancing Marine Ecosystem Monitoring through Innovation 🚀

Today, our CEO Antoine Cousot had the opportunity to present OCEANO VOX at La Baleine, as part of our partnership with CNES.

During the “Pitch Spatial” session on “Protecting marine ecosystems and living resources”, we shared how our real-time technologies can help improve the observation of ocean conditions, bringing together marine science and space innovation.

A big thank you to CNES and all the participating companies for creating space for ocean-focused startups to be heard.

📡 If you're in the ocean or maritime industry and looking to integrate real-time in-situ data into your operations, let’s connect 👉 we’re always open to building new collaborations!

𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐫𝐝𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐍𝐎 𝐍𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬 ⛵

Last week, the OCEANO VOX team carried out a new round of tests on the Erdre river, hosted by SNO Nantes , to validate the latest updates to our VOX Weather device and WebApp.

A big thank you to SNO Nantes for their welcome and technical support—especially for helping us install the LCJ anemometers—and to Aloïs for skippering the boat during the trials.

📡These tests are a key step for our technology, with one clear goal: making reliable, real-time ocean data accessible for everyone.

OCEANO VOX now sailing with WE EXPLORE 🌊 ⛵

We’re proud to collaborate with Explore , now equipped with our VOX Weather system as part of a shared vision: experimenting with innovative practices and inspiring new uses at sea.

👉 Their journey will take part in the upcoming United Nations Ocean Conference in Monaco and Nice!

As it sails from Concarneau to the Mediterranean, the crew is actively contributing to ocean observation by collecting real-time data on wind force and direction, atmospheric pressure, and temperature.

These efforts support the work of the scientific partners involved — including ESA BIC Nord France, EMODnet, UNESCO Ocean's Coast Predict programme, and OceanDataLab — and contribute to a broader effort to make high-quality ocean data more accessible.

A New Partnership in the Mediterranean sea!

We’re excited to collaborate with Sailing Charters Malta , now equipped with the VOX Weather system: an end-to-end solution for charter companies to visualize in one-click real-time weather conditions, keep track without AIS and inform clients of potential danger ⚠️

With a strong commitment to the safety of their clients and the protection of the oceans, Sailing Charters Malta is going beyond offering unforgettable moments at sea—they are now contributing to real-time ocean data collection that supports scientific research and climate resilience.

📍 Why Malta?
Located at a key crossroads for maritime traffic in the Mediterranean, Malta plays a strategic role in the region. However, this area lacks in-situ data, which impacts the study of climatic phenomena and more directly meteorological models (source: European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts - ECMWF). The data collected by Sailing Charters Malta fleet will help fill this gap—improving weather forecasts, decarbonization and supporting open-access science through platforms like EMODnet.

Welcome Onboard! 👋
We’re happy to welcome Cyprien Gaillet and Lika Kamara, who have joined OCEANO VOX as interns to support key R&D efforts.

🔬Cyprien, a second-year student in Physical Measurements at IUT Saint-Nazaire, is working on the qualification of various atmospheric pressure sensors as part of the Open Sea Port project

🛰️Lika, a second-year engineering student at Mines Saint-Étienne, specialized in microelectronics and telecommunications, is evaluating different satellite and nanosatellite communication solutions as part of our ESA-BIC program.

We’re excited to have them on board and look forward to the insights and innovation they’ll bring!

𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐖𝐒 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬⁣
Our DevOps Engineer Romain was at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Summit Paris at the Palais des Congrès, where he met with data experts, discovered new ideas, and explored technologies that could support the evolution of our services.⁣

We were able to attend sessions, ask questions, and see how other teams use AWS in creative and effective ways. It was a great opportunity to reflect on how we can use these tools to scale up, work smarter, and keep improving our nowcasting service—not only to enhance maritime safety, but also to support sustainability through better data.⁣

We’re excited to apply what we’ve learned and keep growing as an international player in ocean data.⁣
🌍Innovation at sea also happens on land.⁣

𝗦𝗨𝗡𝗡𝗬 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗔𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗗: Stay Safe & Contribute to Ocean Science 🌞 🌊

As spring approaches, longer days and better weather means what we enjoy the most: more time out on the water. Whether you're managing a charter fleet or simply setting sail, safety at sea is always a priority.

At OCEANO VOX, we go a step further—our real-time weather data-sharing service doesn’t just help sailors navigate more safely, it also directs crucial data into scientific research. By equipping boats with a simple plug & play device, we help create better weather models, track ocean conditions, and contribute to global climate goals.

Why does it matter? 🌍
👉 For businesses: Offer a smarter, safer experience to your customers while supporting sustainable navigation.
👉 For sailors: Be part of a movement where every journey you make helps improve ocean knowledge.

This season, sailing can be more than just a journey—it can be a step toward smarter navigation and a healthier ocean.

If you manage a charter fleet, do short sea shipping, passenger transport, or expedition boats in the Mediterranean, let’s talk about how you can be part of this! 🚢
