Grace Weaver is opening her new brilliant exhibition on the 29 June 2023 in the Neues Museum Nürnberg.

With only a small number of strokes, Weaver is able to portray precise observations about the everyday lives of a young and mainly female generation. While the situations that the protagonists find themselves in may seem uneventful, Weaver’s unique choice of cropping and close-ups depict a deeper story of self-image and self-confidence, as well as one of loneliness.

EMDASH is beyond proud to support Grace Weaver!

Cecilia Vicuña is a groundbreaking and unconventional multidisciplinary artist that advocates for the importance of art even in the wake of oppression.

Vicuña has channeled her experiences of oppression and violence under Pinochet into her artworks, creating a unique archive that reinforces her existence while suggesting great loss. “In London, 1972 and Today” , an exhibition hosted by Lehmann Maupin, incorporates new paintings, mixed-media works as well as recreations of lost works from Vicuñas years in London from 1972-1975. She remains tireless in her commitment to advocate for social and political change, inextricably linking art and social movements within her fascinating work.

Lisa Brice, ‘Bar Games (1992-2023)’

As a part of London Gallery Weekend, Brice presented two singular artworks (slides 1 and 2) in collaboration with Sadie Coles HQ’s Bury Street gallery (). Using the central figure of a working woman, Brice produces an atmosphere of provocative temptation in her reinterpretation of femininity. This reinterpretation relies on an empowered confrontation with traditional objectified femininity, while drawing artistic parallels to male artists such as Picasso.

Ai Weiwei has become one of the most known conceptual artists in the world.

Through art and sculptures, he sparks conversations, intertwining historical Chinese artifacts with a more contemporary story of development and demolition in China.

The provocative nature of his work enables him to combine art and activism while exploring fascinating tensions between past and present, hand and machine as well as construction and destruction- tensions we are faced with in everyday life.

The ingenuity of his artworks make him not only relatable but also extremely captivating.
