Nous sommes 12 étudiants en médecine, pharmacie, kinésithérapie et STAPS à Marseille, et nous participons à un voyage humanitaire avec l’aide de l’association EMASSI, uniquement dirigée par des étudiants et oeuvrant pour la solidarité à Marseille et à l’international. Ce voyage se déroulera de juin à juillet et nous serons divisés en 2 groupes.
Le projet se situe à Gongkhar, un petit village isolé au cœur du l’Himalaya, à la frontière du Tibet et du Bhoutan. Nous serons accueillis dans ce village bercé par la culture bouddhiste par des moines de l’association “Gongkhar medical tree health care society”.
Cette région du Nord de l’Inde nommée Arunachal Pradesh est considérée comme la plus pauvre du pays et marquée par une importante insécurité sanitaire. L’hôpital le plus proche se situe en effet à Guwahati, à 300km et à plus de 16 heures de route.
Depuis plusieurs années maintenant, l’objectif est en priorité de financer la construction du deuxième étage du dispensaire médical (salle d’opération pour les cas les plus lourds), de payer un médecin pour venir environ 4 fois par mois, ainsi qu’une infirmière à plein temps. De plus, nous allons acheter et apporter des médicaments, du matériel médical ainsi que des vêtements et des jouets pour les enfants.
Beaucoup de choses qui nous paraissent banales, mais qui sont presque inaccessibles pour eux... Nous souhaitons permettre à ces habitants une certaine sécurité sanitaire, plus conséquente, à notre échelle.
L’éducation étant tout aussi importante, nous donnerons des cours d’anglais et de sciences aux enfants du village et sensibiliserons tous les habitants aux questions d’hygiène. Nous aimerions aussi à terme construire un générateur électrique autonome dans l’école pour que les élèves puissent travailler dans des conditions optimales, quelles que soient les circonstances.

We are 12 students studying medicine, pharmacy, kinesitherapy and sport science in Marseille and we are taking part in a humanitarian project with EMASSI, a charitable organization only led by students, trying to improve living conditions of people in need in Marseille and worldwide. Our trips will take place from June to July and we will be divided into 2 groups.
Our mission will take place in Gongkhar, a small isolated village at the heart of the Himalayas, on the border between Tibet and Bhutan.
This village is deeply rooted in a buddhist culture, and we will be welcomed by monks engaged in the local charity “Gongkhar medical tree health care society”.
This region of Northern India called Arunachal Pradesh is considered as the poorest one in the country and suffers from a strong health insecurity: the closest hospital is located in Guwahati, 300km far from the village, which takes more than a 16-hour drive to go there.
For several years now, the aim has been to finance the building of a medical clinic (we would like to expand it and open an operating room on the second floor), to pay a doctor to come and visit patients four times a month, as well as a nurse working full time. In addition, we will buy and bring drugs, medical equipment but also clothes and games for children.
These are things that we take for granted, but hardly accessible for them… Providing the inhabitants with a better health security is a major challenge that we will try to address.
Education being a key point too, we will give science and English lessons to the children and raise awareness about hygiene basic rules. We would also like to build an autonomous electric generator in the school for the children to work in the best conditions, however the circumstances.
