Burnout among youth workers: the hidden crisis across Europe

The new EXIT Burnout International Mapping Report reveals how stress and exhaustion affect youth workers — and what can be done to prevent it.
🗣️ Researchers interviewed 186 youth workers from Austria, Latvia, Italy, and Spain, uncovering shared challenges and needs across borders

📊 Key findings:
• Burnout stems mainly from organisational factors — excessive workload, low recognition, unclear roles, and lack of community support.
• Many youth workers feel emotionally exhausted and unsupported by their institutions.
• There’s a strong need for systemic prevention, wellbeing training, and safe spaces for open dialogue.

💡 Why it matters:
Youth workers empower and inspire young people — but they can’t pour from an empty cup. Building supportive work environments is essential to keep them healthy, motivated, and effective.

🌍✨ Ireland welcomed the first YES-EDU international meeting!

From 25 to 28 May, our partners gathered in Ireland for the first Learning, Teaching and Training Activities (LTTA) of the Erasmus+ project YES-EDU – Youth Engagement for Sustainable EDUcation 🇮🇪🤝

Hosted by Meath Partnership, this inspiring meeting brought together partners from Ireland, France, and Croatia to exchange ideas, experiences, and good practices in youth work, with a special focus on young people from rural areas and those at risk of social exclusion.

💬 Over four productive days, we explored local challenges, shared inspiring examples from our communities, discussed upcoming project activities, and strengthened our collaboration for the exciting steps ahead.

🏡 One of the highlights? A visit to the Boomerang Youth Café in Drogheda, where we had the opportunity to see youth work in action! The team shared valuable insights into how they create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where young people can learn, connect, and actively participate in community life.

💡 This practical experience helped us connect the goals of YES-EDU with real examples of impactful youth work on the ground.

And this is only the beginning! 🚀
YES-EDU continues with new activities, more exchanges of good practices, and the development of exciting project results.

🤝 The project is implemented by ISUM, the Tandem Plus Network, and Meath Partnership, with the financial support of the European Union.

📲 Stay tuned and follow our journey for more updates from YES-EDU!

📢 Le projet YES-EDU – Youth Engagement for Sustainable EDUcation a officiellement démarré !

YOUR-AI: Who Owns What When AI Enters the Creative Room?

🎨 What happens to intellectual property when AI becomes part of the creative process? Who owns the output, the human, the tool, the platform?

📆 On 4 May 2026, join us for an open conversation with Onur Emul and Ignacio Márquez as we explore one of the most pressing questions facing today's creative professionals: intellectual property in the age of AI.

👀 Together, we'll navigate the Creatives Unite Platform, examine the blurry boundaries between human authorship and AI-assisted creation, and discuss what it really means to use these tools ethically, without compromising the originality and voice that make your work distinctly yours.

✨ The session includes a live Q&A. Come with your questions, your doubts, and your curiosity! ✨

Let the truth be told, let the press be free.

Journalists give a voice to the voiceless and shine a light in the darkest corners of society.

Yet, too many face intimidation, censorship, and violence simply for doing their job.

This World Press Freedom Day, we reaffirm our commitment to protecting those who protect the truth.

📜 The European Media Freedom Act strengthens protections for editorial independence.
⚖️ We’re fighting abusive lawsuits to protect those who speak out.
🌐 The Digital Services Act limits disinformation while defending freedom of expression.

We continue working to protect media workers, defend independent journalism, and ensure that the public’s right to reliable information is never compromised.

Because free press is the foundation of any functioning democracy.

📌Exciting news from the Y-CARE partnership!
We're proud to announce the launch of the Y-CARE
E-Learning Platform, available in all partner languages — a dedicated space for youth workers across Europe to grow, learn, and take care of themselves.

The platform brings together training modules on:
* Burnout prevention & work-life balance
* Mental health awareness
* Emotional intelligence & communication
* Peer support & sustainable self-care

Because youth workers can only support young people when they're supported themselves.
The piloting phase is coming soon — stay tuned for updates! 👇
