𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣, 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 106 𝙙𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙡𝙮

🚀 There are only three months left before the SuMoth Challenge! Our team is intensifying its efforts to finish the boat as soon as possible. During the past month, Team WAVE has polished the final design details for critical parts of the moth and continues to manufacture the rigging and other external pieces.

🪽The wings design was completed in February, leading us to move into production. As the bamboo layout has been set, we have produced the first wing mounts. We also acquired a second-hand Hobie Cat trampoline and started adapting it, in line with our desire to be as eco-responsible as possible.

⚙️Our team has finalized the design of the rigging system, enabling us to start producing the first elements, like the connector board. Most of the rigging pieces are already on their way to us, and we will soon be able to put everything together. We are also in touch with one of our collaborators to study the production of a sail made of innovative and ecological materials.

🪄Following our studies from previous months, we have produced the wand for our stability system in basalt fibre, to keep up with our ambition to minimize our carbon footprint.

⛵The coming weeks will be crucial as we finalize the manufacturing of our moth. We are very eager and proud to show it at the competition. See you in 106 days!

𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢, 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙗𝙤𝙖𝙩, 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙨𝙚 𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣

⛵Our first involvement in the SuMoth Challenge is coming! With a small but over motivated team, we are quickly completing all the steps before riding our moth. The team is currently working on the design of our foils and the engineering of the stability control system.

🔧During the last months of 2025 we have also been working on all the internal structure of our boat. In this context, we built our foil well and add it to the hull to make the boat ready to be closed. On the other hand, we have been working on our deck to improve its adjustment and start taking precise measurement for or all our rigging components.

⚙️According to our ambition to make our first boat the most reliable possible, we decided to sail with a fully mechanical stability control system. This one links the control wand to the trailing edge of the main foil with a simple and strong pivot chain, adjustable by the skipper in navigation.

🪽With the aim of creating eco-designed wings, we chose to build the structure using bamboo. For the wings flooring, we decided to recycle and adapt a second-hand Hobie Cat 16 trampoline.

🪛In the next few months, we are very excited to build the last parts of our boat! We are currently working on both foils and wings manufacturing which should be completed in the next weeks. We are also beginning to build the boom and the spreaders to assembly the boat as soon as possible.

💅The team has also updated its visual identity to match better with our state of mind and motivation. We are very happy to finally take our boat to Lake Garda.

Quelle soirée incroyable pour le centenaire de l’ESTACA ! Avec l’équipe Sumoth, nous avons eu la chance de présenter notre projet et de rencontrer des esprits brillants et passionnés.
C’était un vrai plaisir d’échanger avec d’autres associations, de partager nos expériences et de découvrir les initiatives innovantes de chacun. Des rencontres qui donnent envie de continuer à apprendre et à repousser nos propres limites.
Merci à tous ceux qui ont participé à cette belle soirée. Ensemble, continuons à rêver, créer et innover pour le siècle à venir 💡✨🌟
