Pax Romana IMCS - MIEC in DRC Celebrates its 72nd Anniversary and the 105th Anniversary of Pax Romana IMCS - MIEC
The International Movement of Catholic Students in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MIEC-RDCONGO) celebrated, last Sunday at ISTA/Kinshasa, the 72nd anniversary of its presence in the DRC as well as the 105th anniversary of MIEC-PAX ROMANA worldwide.
The commemorative event was marked by a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Rev. Fr. Alain-Joseph LOMANDJA, Secretary of the Episcopal Commission for the Apostolate of the Laity (CEAL) of the National Episcopal Conference of Congo (CENCO). Several former members of the movement, including Professor Pierre LOHOHOLA, Andrรฉ BEKAMBO, Jean-Baptiste NDUNDU, Alain KIPA, รphrem SOMBE, and Jean-Marie MAZAMBI, also shared their testimonies during the celebration.
Through their speeches, these prominent figures retraced the history of MIEC at both national and international levels, while highlighting the challenges faced over the years and the future prospects for Catholic student youth in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Federal Bureau of MIEC-DRC praised the commitment of former members, supporters, and provincial coordinations of MIEC-DRCONGO, which organized various activities across the country to give this celebration a truly national dimension.
