La Ville de Grenoble a acquis cette propriété afin d’y organiser des colonies de vacances en bord de mer. Cette propriété de 3 hectares environ a été achetée en 1956 par la Ville durant le mandat de Léon Martin à une famille d’aristocrates alsacienne. La maison principale a été construite dans les années 1870, avec deux annexes à usage de remise et logement du personnel domestique (actuel bâtiments Les Lauriers et Yucca). La ville de Grenoble y a adjoint le bâtiment B, construit en 1963 sur un plan type d’école à 3 classes avec préau et toiture à pan unique en fibro-ciment. Ce bâtiment a été entièrement remodelé par l’association Poil de Carotte. Les espaces extérieurs ont cependant gardé leur authenticité agricole avec une belle allée d’oliviers et une déclivité organisée en restanques, autrefois cultivées. Un puit, aujourd’hui comblé, était situé sous l’actuelle cuisine annexe (plonge) et explique l’exceptionnelle vigueur de l’eucalyptus bordant la terrasse. Les arbres composant le parc sont pour la plupart centenaires et constituent un patrimoine remarquable mais fragile et nécessitent chaque année un entretien spécialisé.
Massacan accueille chaque année de nombreux groupes (scolaires, centre de loisirs, évènements privés, etc...) dans un cadre exceptionnel. Des générations de Grenoblois sont passés par là et certains y ont vu la mer pour la première fois.

Grenoble acquired this property to organise holiday’s camps in front of the sea. This house of 3 hectares was purchased in 1956 by Grenoble to a Alsatian family arictocrates. The main house built in 1870’s, with two annexes for the domestic staff (now building Laurels an Yucca).
Grenoble built in 1963 the building B on a classic plan with 3 classes and a courtyard. The building has been remodeled by the association « Poil de Carotte ». The outdoor spaces, however, have kept their agricultural authenticity with an amazing olive-trees alley and a slope organized in terraces, formerly cultivated. A well, now filled, was locates under the current kitchen and explains the exceptional vigor of eucalyptus bordering the terrace. The trees making up the park are for the most part 100 years old and constitute a remarkable but fragile heritage and require a specialized interview every year.
Every year, Massacan welcomes many groups (school, holliday’s camps, private events) in a fabulous setting. Many generations of Grenoble’s people have been there and some have seen the sea for the first time.

Questa proprietà di 3 ettari è stata acquistata nel 1956 dalla città a una famiglia di aristocratici alsaziani. La casa principale fu construit anel 1870, con due annessi usati per lo spargimento e l’alloggiamento del personale domestico (edifici attuali Laurels e Yucca). La città du Grenoble ha aggiunto l’edificio B, construito nel 1963 su un tipico piano scolastico con 3 classi con cortile e tetto in fibrocemento a padella unica. Questo edificio è stato completamente ristrutturato dall’associazione « Poil de Carotte ». Gli spazi esterni, tuttavia, hanno mantenuto la loro autenticità agricola con un bellissimo viale di ulivi e un pendio organizzato in terrazze, precedentemente coltivate. Un pozzo, ora pieno, si trovava sotto l’attuale cucina e spega l’eccezionale vigore degli eucalipti che si affacciano sul terrazzo. Gli alberi che compongono il parco sono pe la maggior parte 100 anni e costituiscono un patrimonio notevole ma fragile e richiedono un’intervista specializzata ogni anno.
Massacan accogli ogni anno molti gruppi (scuola, centro ricreativo, eventi privati) in un ambiente eccezionale. Generazioni di Grenoblois ci sono state e alcuni hanno visto il mare pe la prima volta.
