Mentawais Terima Kasih !
This is it our team trip to Indonesia has come to an end.
While we look behind and see a week full of fun, training and great waves, unfortunately we did not get the occasions we would have loved to meet and engage more with the local community, understand the culture, challenges…
One thing for sure, Mentawais look for now still preserved from mass tourism and its impact and we can only hope it remains as such.
Thanks to , a surf guide in the area, we have been able to get in contact with a young local surfer, , whose ambitions are clearly to become one of the top surfer of her country. 🇮🇩.
Shaldira will be supported by Smile Wave Fund in the coming year and we hope we can help her reach her ambitions.
