One of the most fascinating parts of this renovation has been discovering what was happening beneath our feet. đ§đŠ
Grasse has been shaped by water for centuries. Natural springs run beneath the old town, and we even have a functioning well inside the Parfums de Vie center, fed by one of them.
So when the old floors were stripped away, water became a very real part of the renovation.
And I learned something super interesting.
You donât try to stop the water.
You understand it. You respect it. And you give it a path.
So beneath our future floors, pathways were carefully created to allow the water to keep flowing safely â hidden from sight, but still very much there.
It made me think about our work with the children of Parfums de Vie.
They carry so much intelligence, creativity, resilience, gifts, dreams and extraordinary potential within them.
But potential needs encouragement. It needs people who see it, believe in it and keep showing up. It needs support through the difficult moments, help to keep going when things feel hard, space to grow in confidence, and the freedom to begin imagining a different future.
Like water, potential needs a path.
And sometimes the most important thing we can do is simply help make space for it to flow.
