The main goals of YOUR-I2BC are:
1- Being pre
pared for future:
a- Self-training
Why: Because we need to build up self-confidence when presenting our work in public. How: Organizing special seminar sessions for young researchers who want to rehearse before presenting at conferences, PhD defense, etc. These rehearsals sessions will be held in an informal and relaxed environment. b- Proposing trainings:
Why: Because we need to improve our knowledge and skills. How: Making a list of available trainings, with a description of the goal, location, language, and if possible, with the advice of those who already did it. c- Helping foreign Young Researchers to settle down in France
Why: Because French bureaucracy is cumbersome. This causes a loss of time that can be used for research and increases frustration. How: Making a full list of documents required for the various formalities needed when coming to live in France. Providing the contact of a competent person if needed.
2- Creation of a new scientific network
a- Promoting interactions between YOUR-I2BC members and External Researchers
Why: Because we want to build our own future scientific network. How: Organizing social and scientific events at the I2BC like Seminars, workshops, beer sessions, barbecues, etc. How: Inviting non I2BC researchers in an informal atmosphere will facilitate scientific discussions with YOUR-I2BC members. b- Promoting YOUR-I2BC at a national and international level
Why: Because as young scientist we would like promote I2BC reputation worldwide. How: With a remarkable communication department and the future renowned of Paris-Saclay campus.
3-Academic research. a- Creating a non-academic network
Why: Because we should be aware of other career possibilities outside the academic field, providing further options to our professional future. How: Inviting former PhD and Post-docs who chose other career paths.
