๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช โœŠ After more than 15 years of austerity and below-inflation pay rises, Fรณrsa members have forced pay onto the agenda.

More than 300,000 public service workers stopped work across Ireland on 14 October, in the country's biggest strike since 2009. Fรณrsa members picketed more than 7,000 workplaces, a month after the largest strike ballot in Ireland's history. By the end of the day, the government said pay could come first in talks.

This is what an active, fighting union can achieve. PSI stands with Fรณrsa members as they keep up the fight. โœŠ

On 14 October in Bangkok, PSI and CICTAR will launch ๐‘‡โ„Ž๐‘’ ๐ถ๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘–๐‘ก๐‘ฆ ๐‘ƒ๐‘Ž๐‘ฆ๐‘š๐‘’๐‘›๐‘ก ๐‘‡๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘, a new report examining the hidden public costs of energy privatisation in Thailand, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Trade unionists from the four countries will join researchers to discuss what privatisation has meant for workers, public utilities and the transition to renewable energy โ€” and how unions are fighting back.
