Bilingual Education Exchange BEE is a non-profit association that provides English literacy classes for primary aged children.

Children attending BEE activities will usually be in French school or college the rest of the week, which is why our classes on Wednesdays are full of fun, varied activities, including lots of creative work, speaking and listening, and socialising while English literacy skills are worked on in a non-pressured, friendly environment. We are able to provide all the advantages of an international school - group work, international community - while enabling your child to remain fully integrated into their life at their French school.

Today marks the 6 year anniversary of one of our students, Alice. She has attended BEE since just after her fourth birthday. 🎂

Alice’s Mum, who now also volunteers as a teaching assistant at BEE, told us “Alice moved to France when she was only 18 months old, and whilst she thrives in the French system, we felt it important to keep up a good level of English in both her written and reading in her mother tongue. She started off on the English phonics system and is now learning English through reading, writing techniques and comprehension exercises as well as group reading exercises and activities. It has been a very important part of Alice’s education and has been so valuable to her, both educationally and socially”. ❤️📚

Alice told us “it’s really fun, I’ve made new friends and I’ve learned lots of different things”. 👯‍♀️🥳

BEE school is open to all nationalities and whilst our students are predominantly English or French speaking, we have students who speak Spanish, Danish and also have moved over to France from America! We welcome everyone 🌍

We at BEE have some spaces left for students to join in the fun every Wednesday afternoon 2.00-4.15pm. Contact us via our page or email us at [email protected] 📧

👻🎃Are you ready for a spooktacular afternoon of fun at BEE on Wednesday? 🎃👻

Given that we're fast approaching Halloween, we thought it would be a nice idea for the children to dress up, if they wanted to. We are asking for €1 per child for this event and there will be a Fancy Dress Competition.... with a prize for the best spooky costume!

Teachers - beware….. you’re in for a scare! 🧛🏼‍♀️

📚What our students are up to this term📚

Our Class 3 teacher Sarah has embarked on an exciting project with her group and she told us this…

‘’This term the older children are reading Journey to the river sea by Eva Ibbotson.
Throughout the term we will be writing diary entries, letters, persuasive texts, newspaper articles, stories and non- fiction texts. This will be alongside weekly spellings, grammar and punctuation activities, and reading. We are also going to be learning about Brazil and the Amazon rainforest, and the animal and plant life.’’

Keep your eyes peeled to see how this project progresses 👀

⭐️We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make our book and cake sale such a success! ⭐️

📚Many books for all ages were sold, we hope you managed to grab a bargain as well as a tasty treat to eat you whilst getting stuck into your new book.

🍰We raised an amazing total of €170, this will be going towards resources for the year, as well as new books to accompany the different programmes and projects that the students are following in class.

📖Join us again on the 20th of December for another exciting event. We will be holding a craft/book/toy sale (with festive refreshments of course!) to get you feeling Christmassy 🎁

Hello everyone!
We hope you all had a great summer and that back to school went smoothly.

Bee lessons will be resuming from next Wednesday, the 13th of September. Lessons will be held, as usual, at Notre Dame on Rue du Veau in Eymet, from 2pm to 4.15pm.

We have had some exciting changes to the teaching team, and an update and revision of the curriculum! We currently have spaces available in our youngest class, Little Bees 🐝, for ages 4-6, and in our two oldest classes, ages 8-11.

For all enquiries and information, please get in touch via our page, or by email to [email protected].

We look forward to see you all next week!

The Bee Team.
