P-WAC protects chimpanzees and monkeys, as well as their natural habitat, with the support of local communities. In France, our team sensitizes the public about primates' extinction (shows, exhibitions, education programs...). In DRC, chimpanzees and other primates victims of pet trade are rescued in our rehabilitation center in order to reintroduce them back in the wild, with the support of local communities. P-WAC also aims at protecting the natural habitat of primates, the tropical rainforest, by informing local population, fighting against deforestation and setting up a reforestation program.

--- AGRANDISSEMENT DE LA MAISON DES CHIMPANZÉS DE MAYÉLÉ : MERCI À LA FONDATION 30 MILLIONS D’AMIS ! ---

🇺🇸 GIVING DAY FOR APES — THANK YOU ❤️

Our first Giving Day for Apes is over, and we want to say thank you.

👉 For the first time, P-WAC took part in this American fundraising event — an opportunity made possible by the GFAS and the Giving Day for Apes team.

With very few contacts in the United States, we knew this first campaign would be a challenge. But what touched us most was seeing people who did not know P-WAC before discover our work and choose to support us.

This first American event was about more than fundraising. It was about opening a door, introducing P-WAC to new people, and beginning to build a community of support in the United States.

To everyone who donated, shared our campaign, followed us or simply took the time to discover our work: Thank you for being part of this step with us. ❤️

❤️ And a special thank you to the Giving Day for Apes team for making this possible.

🇨🇵 GIVING DAY FOR APES — MERCI ❤️

🇺🇸 DEAR AMERICAN FRIENDS, THIS ONE IS FOR YOU

👉 You may not know P-WAC yet — so let us introduce ourselves.

P-WAC rescues and rehabilitates primates who have been victims of poaching and the illegal wildlife trade. We also protect their natural habitat — tropical forest — and work alongside local communities to help preserve these forests.

☘️ For the first time, P-WAC is taking part in Giving Day for Apes, an American fundraising event supporting the protection of great apes and their habitats. This is an exciting opportunity for us to introduce P-WAC to more people in the United States and bring new support to our work.

If you have friends, family or networks in the United States, please share our campaign with them. Helping us reach your American networks would mean a lot to P-WAC.

🇱🇷 38 PRIMATES IN ONE RESCUE

Some months ago, 38 primates were discovered at Kinshasa airport during a wildlife rescue operation. The Ministry of Environment of the DRC asked P-WAC to rescue all of them.

P-WAC has enough protected forest to give them a second chance. The mission was accepted.

👉 P-WAC rescued 35 monkeys and 3 baby chimpanzees.

Five monkeys died during the first days after their arrival due to severe health conditions.

The survivors faced five months of quarantine, medical care and nutrition to treat the consequences of the conditions they had endured. Three underwent amputations, several had serious wounds, and almost all were suffering from respiratory and intestinal infections.

❤️ Today, the three baby chimpanzees are living with a group of young chimpanzees in the P-WAC forest.

❤️ The other survivors are also living in a secure area, which is currently being improved to provide them with access to one hectare of forest.

👉👉 This is what long-term rescue and rehabilitation in a natural environment looks like.

🇱🇷 P-WAC is taking part in the U.S. in Giving Day for Apes for the very first time. Your donation helps us provide food, medical care and safe forest environments for our rescued primates.

PROTECTING PRIMATES MEANS PROTECTING THEIR FOREST

You cannot protect primates without preserving their forest.

At P-WAC, rescue and forest conservation are inseparable. We restore previously cleared land with native forest species, protect existing forest and work with neighboring communities.

And as the forest recovers, wildlife returns.

Protecting a primate also means protecting the place where it belongs.

This year, P-WAC is taking part in Giving Day for Apes for the very first time. If you would like to support our work protecting primates and their forest, you can make a donation through our Giving Day campaign:

🇱🇷 P-WAC IS NOT A ZOO.

P-WAC is a rescue and rehabilitation center. The primates in our care are not here for visitors or entertainment.

They live in protected forest environments, where their rehabilitation can take place as naturally as possible. No tourist visits. No photo opportunities.

The forest is not a backdrop to our work. It is part of the rehabilitation.

This year, P-WAC is taking part in Giving Day for Apes for the very first time.

If you would like to support our work and help us continue providing a safe environment for rescued primates, you can donate through our Giving Day campaign: 👉 mtyc.co/ppfbeg

RESCUE IS ONLY THE BEGINNING

At P-WAC, when a primate is rescued from the illegal wildlife trade, the work has only just started.

Quarantine. Veterinary care. Medical tests. Nutrition. Recovery. Social rehabilitation.

Some arrive severely weakened. Others have spent months or years in captivity.

Rehabilitation takes time — and resources.

Your support helps us provide the care they need.

🇱🇷 MEET P-WAC

Dear friends all over the world,

You may not know P-WAC yet. So let us introduce ourselves.

👉 P-WAC — Project for Wildlife and Apes Conservation — is a conservation organization working in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

🐵 Since 2017, we have been rescuing and rehabilitating primates who have been victims of poaching and the illegal wildlife trade.

🌳 We also protect tropical forests, their natural habitat.

🫶 And we work alongside local communities.

Our rescue center is located in the Mayombe forest, in southwestern DRC. This is where our work happens — every single day.

This year, P-WAC is joining Giving Day for Apes for the very first time : https://mtyc.co/ppfbeg

If you are discovering P-WAC through this campaign, welcome. ❤️
