Short Film Conference has been in existence since 1970 as a non-profit association and the only international organisation seeking to unite the global short film community. 🌟 Investing in the LA Independent Film Scene

We want to wrap up our social media takeover by showcasing one of our most prominent programs: The CineSessions High School Student Mentorship Program.

NFMLA hosts interactive programs on a monthly basis that explore various areas of the entertainment industry. The LA County students who participate in this program gain real-world, professional experience, build their resume and expand their connections in the media industry.

🎥 A spotlight on the NFMLA June Festival!

Come take a sneak peak into what a day of a NFMLA festival looks like!

At our monthly Film Festivals, we showcase curated screenings of selected films, whether they be shorts or features of genres all across the board. We also host live Q&As with filmmakers, community mixers, and panels with industry professionals.

Whether you’re an emerging filmmaker or a film enthusiast, our events are designed to inspire and connect through sparking conversation and fostering collaboration!

The Monthly Festival Series features what we call our “InFocus” themes. Each InFocus theme aims to amplify underrepresented voices and create space for innovative storytelling in LA and beyond. This month, our InFocus theme is LGBTQ+ Cinema!

Hi everyone, we’re NewFilmmakers LA (NFMLA), and we’re thrilled to take over the Short Film Conference Instagram during our June Monthly Film Festival InFocus: LGBTQ+ Cinema weekend!

You might be wondering “Who is NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA)?” 🤔

For those who don’t know, NFMLA was founded in 2007 and champions emerging and independent filmmakers, storytellers and creators from around the world. We provide a forum where creators can be recognized for their contributions, have open audience discussions about their work and connect with industry professionals for insight on all aspects of the entertainment landscape.

The second day of the Friss Hús Budapest International Short Film Festival is already in full swing.

Throughout the day, our industry programs continue with talks and masterclasses. One of today’s highlights is Benoit Berthe Siward’s The Visibility Playbook masterclass, focusing on how short films can become internationally visible and reach wider audiences.

This year, the United Kingdom has a particularly important role at the festival. Every year we collaborate closely with one featured country, and in 2026 that country is the UK.
As part of this collaboration, we are also presenting GLITCHES - Best of UK Shorts, a selection bringing some of the most exciting works of the British short film scene to Budapest.
And after the screenings comes the atmosphere film festivals are famous for: conversations lasting until dawn, packed cinemas, outdoor screenings, and festival nights that never really end.

Hi SFC followers!

We are the Friss Hús Budapest International Short Film Festival.

This year, we are organizing the festival for the 14th time. With more than 5,000 submissions every year, more than 15,000 visitors, screenings and events in 10 Hungarian cities, Friss Hús has become Hungary’s only Oscar-qualifying short film festival.

For 7 days, we screen more than 100 short films in Hungarian and international competition programs, presenting fresh voices and filmmakers from all around the world.

The winners of the Hungarian live-action and animated competitions automatically become eligible for Academy Award consideration.

Since 2025, the festival has also expanded with its own short film and talent market.

Alongside the competition programs, we also curate thematic selections, including our horror section and the Q***r Dreams program.

Over the next few days, we’ll show you what Budapest looks like through the lens of short films.

Welcome to the International Short Film Festival 2ANNAS!

This year, we are celebrating our 30th anniversary. Just a few days ago, we opened the festival with a powerful kick-off - not only with screenings and performances, but also with an exhibition reflecting our history and roots.

As the first short film festival in the Baltics, 2ANNAS brings together film enthusiasts, professionals, and both emerging and experienced creators. Over six days, we travel through competitions, focus programmes, and a variety of events - creating a space for discovery, dialogue, and shared cinematic experiences.

Today we wanted to share a bit about our beloved filmmaker blog, the T-Blog and the creative people who are part of it.

The T-Blog is where we love to highlight the filmmakers, professional partners, and films that are the backbone of what we do.

A few recent highlights include:

A chat with Rotter, the filmmaker behind a 2025 Lighthouse-selected film, who shares about her upbringing in an ultra-orthodox community, who talks about having not watched a film until she was 18 years old.

We try to interview all of the filmmakers who films are part of our annual Lighthouse Selections, our curated list of T-Port shorts picked annually by prestigious guest curators.

An interview with the Oscar-nominated filmmaker Meyer Levinson-Blount (BUTCHER’S STAIN) who talks about what it felt like to find out about the nomination.

A catch up interview with veteran experimental animator Betina Kuntzsch, whose film was part of our 2025 Lighthouse Selections. She talks about her long career as an animator and her approach to filmmaking.

Interviews with filmmakers who took part in this year’s Script Pool Tallinn, Christofer Nilsson and Teresa Väli, about their upcoming productions as well as highlighting previous films on T-Port.

For day 2 of the T-Port takeover of SFC’s Instagram, we’re excited to share our most recent project with you. Introducing the T-Port TalentBridge.

TalentBridge is a training series for emerging filmmakers, hosted by T-Port in collaboration with film festivals and markets happening in 2026 - the , during Berlinale, the SFC | Rendez-vous Industry at the Festival de Cannes, and in cooperation with the , , and .

The online portion of TalentBridge offers six independent 4-hour workshops, each led by T-Port's Managing Director, Amos Geva, alongside a rotating roster of industry experts.

Supported by the Creative Europe MEDIA program and the German Federal Film Board (FFA).
