Four days. One villa above the Riviera. A guest list most founders spend a career trying to reach.

This was Club OPUS at Cannes.

A former Mastercard CMO trading notes with first-time founders. Manchester United’s comms chief on holding the trust of hundreds of millions. AI leaders, world-class trainers, operators behind some of the biggest brands in the world, and the founders who earned a seat alongside them.

That’s the whole idea.

Access isn’t a door you get through once. It’s who’s sitting next to you when you do. The introductions founders chase for years happened here over a long weekend, and the rounds and companies that trace back to a poolside conversation this week, you’ll read about those later.

Get the room right and the future takes care of itself.

Next stop: Davos.

Four days. One villa above the Riviera. And thousands of people that reminded us exactly why we do this.

Last night we closed Club OPUS the only way that felt right. The Founderverse closing party, everyone from the week’s conversations back in one place, the pool, the sun going down, nobody rushing for the exit.

But the real story is what happens next. The intros that turn into rounds. The conversations that turn into companies. The week doesn’t end when the villa empties out.

Boardy and Wavelength took us home. A fitting close to a Cannes Lions we won’t forget.

That’s a wrap on Club OPUS at Cannes. Find us next in Davos.

After two days of poolside drinks and late conversations, we opened day three with a wellness morning. Performance, recovery, longevity, the things founders optimise for everyone but themselves.

, who has motivated Beyoncé and Oprah, was not going to let a room of founders off easy. of Just Train and , Nike master trainer, took it from there. Movement from Pliability. A lot of people discovering muscles they’d been ignoring since their last raise.

Turns out the hardest workout at Cannes isn’t the networking.
In partnership with Healf, AIIR, Project Healthy Minds, Pliability and F**t Insider.

The closing party is tonight. The last one of the week.

Two panels yesterday afternoon, one question underneath both: who gets to shape what comes next.

Jimmy McLoughlin OBE pushed on the future of work with Ilona Logvinova, HSF Kramer’s Chief AI Officer. Less “AI is coming for your job,” more which jobs don’t exist yet and who’s qualified to build them.

Then Nishma Patel Robb and Rowena Humby took on the part everyone tiptoes around. Women get less than 2% of venture funding. If that doesn’t change before the AI winners are decided, the next wave of building looks a lot like the last one.

Followed by cocktails, founders, investors, the day’s conversations carrying on past sundown.

The closing party is tomorrow, 4pm. RSVP or (seriously) regret it.

Day two belonged to

A full-day takeover that started over breakfast with the Endava and teams, then moved poolside for two conversations worth showing up early for.

First, the art of storytelling. former CMO of Mastercard, with broadcaster , on why creativity is still one of the sharpest tools in business.

Then, fan engagement at scale. Toby Craig, Chief Communications Officer at Manchester United, on how you hold the trust of hundreds of millions of people and still make it feel personal.

Different topics, same thread. The brands that last are the ones people actually feel something about.

More from the takeover still to come. Two days left in Cannes, and the closing party is the one to make!

Day one didn’t end at the pool. It ended at a long table and a guest list we picked by hand.

Founders, funders, friends of the community, all in the same place for one evening.
The kind of dinner where the conversation outlasts the courses.

The week’s not done. Neither are we.
