We're deeply saddened to record the passing of Mike Pinder on 14th April.

This is a sad loss of a gentleman with such a legacy in hovercraft and a wealth of information and stories. Mike was involved with The Hovercraft Museum from the start, playing a key role in its running and development for many years.
He will especially be remembered for running his locally based company Pindair Ltd, designing, building and demonstrating hovercraft and travelling around the world to promote hovercraft.

We at the Hovercraft Museum are very fortunate to have such a large archive collection and memories of Mike, his company and his hovercraft, as well as examples of the hovercraft he manufactured within our collection.

We will share more memories of Mike very soon.

Our condolences are extended to Mike's family.

Pete and Steve have been a huge part of Hovertravel, keeping our hovercraft flying and playing a key role in shaping the wider hovercraft industry 🚤

Their impact goes far beyond our company, and we’re incredibly proud of everything they’ve contributed.

As we look to the future, their influence continues through the next generation of pilots they’ve helped develop 🧑‍✈️
