ART TO SERVE NATURE
Created in 2016 in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, the aim of the Nereus Arts Association is to organize Artistic & Cultural Events to help make the general Public more aware of the constant threat to our environment both local (existing protected sites within the Littoral/ Mediterranean Area) and international level. THE ARTS, IDEAL MEDIATOR FOR THE CAUSE OF THE ENVIRONMENT
Our ambition is
that by using the Arts, we can encourage the General Public to both protect our existing natural heritage and also to leave behind a legacy that will help to preserve in some way the natural beauty of our planet for future generations. We believe that if the Arts are capable of illustrating the beauty of our environment with its inexhaustible source of natural inspiration, it can also uniquely touch everyone’s conscience, spark a positive reaction, provoke debate and hopefully assist with finding the solutions to environmental issues that we are presently striving for. NEREUS, A FAIR AND SINCERE GOD
The Association has chosen to symbolically place its actions under the protective arm of the Greek Mythological figure of Nereus, a son of the Ocean & Earth. This Marine God is portrayed as a peaceful, wise amphibious man who was noted for his sense of justice and reason.

MOBILISÉS POUR L’ENVIRONNEMENT
Créée en 2016 à Beaulieu-sur-Mer, l’association Nereus-Arts a pour but d’organiser des événements artistiques et culturels d’envergure internationale destinés à sensibiliser le grand public à la défense de l’environnement et à la préservation des grands sites naturels classés, notamment ceux situés sur le littoral méditerranéen. Ces manifestations permettront de récolter des fonds pour financer des campagnes de sensibilisation du grand public. L’ART, MÉDIATEUR IDÉAL DE LA CAUSE DE L’ENVIRONNEMENT
Nereus-Arts a l’ambition, grâce aux arts, d’inciter le grand public à défendre notre patrimoine naturel afin de léguer aux générations futures une planète aussi belle qu’aujourd’hui. Si l’art montre les beautés de la nature, inépuisable source d’inspiration, il a aussi la capacité unique de toucher tous les publics. Avec l’aide de ce médiateur, idéal pour la cause qu’elle défend, l’association souhaite contribuer à une prise de conscience, susciter des réactions, des débats et proposer des solutions…
JUSTE ET MESURÉ COMME LE DIEU NÉRÉE
L’association a choisi de placer symboliquement son action sous la protection de Nérée, fils de l’Océan et de la Terre. Ce dieu marin se distingue par son sens de la justice et de la mesure.
