the mourre frais project is composed of a group of artists who live (or intervent) for several years in a place with the name mourre frais, located in balazuc, in the south of france (ardèche). this artists work on the social and ecological sculpture mourre frais. on the 6 of april 2010, the mourre frais land lord obtained the eviction of this group of artists by police force, in hope of selling her property. due to ever increasing property prices (the mourre frais property quadrupted in value in 10 years), it was impossible for the mourre frais project to buy the home in which they were living. since then, the founding artists live in a trailler home placed on a neighbors property. they camp and have installed a constrcution container on a piece of mourre frais land, the farest away from the house on sold. this piece of land, which is also a garden and habitat contains an old, unused rail road bridge on which the surrounding communities have planned to make a leiseire trail. at the same time the mourre frais project beeing without a home, plans to built a space for art life, within the arches of the bridge; the bridge beeing an ideal location for such a project. historique:

la propriétaire des lieux voulant vendre sa propriété privée mourre frais, les a fait expulser manu militari de leur lieu de vie le 6 avril 2010. la spéculation immobilière étant très violente (multiplication des prix par 4 en 10 ans) le projet mourre frais se trouvait face à l'impossibilité d'acheter son propre lieu de vie! (en fait face à l'absurdité de l'impossibilité de s'acheter soi même!! )
depuis ils habitent une caravane chez des voisins accueillants, campent et ont installé un container sur une partie des terres de mourre frais qu'ils occupent (partie plus éloignée du bien immobilier en vente)
ce terrain-jardin-lieu de vie est traversé par un ancien viaduc-chemin de fer désaffecté sur lequel la communauté de commune des gorges de l'ardèche (dont fait partie balazuc) projette d'installer une voie verte
le projet mourre frais quasi sans abri, en tout cas sans maison, projette de construire un lieu de vie artistique sous les arches de ce pont. ce pont est une invitation à la construction et l'habitation: le projet pont habité!
