Cancer Support France Haute-Vienne

On Thursday 27 08 26 one of our volunteers attended, and represented the association, at another Swap Shop event at La Ribiere Sud campsite, near Chalus, organised by Gwen Allingham-Mills and the owners of the site, Ann and Harry. They collect for our association twice a year donating monies raised from the sale of refreshments. This time they collected and donated another excellent amount of 515.15€ from refreshments and donations. This was the largest amount they have collected in any one event since they started many years ago. We would like to thank our Team South Haute-Vienne who try to to attend all the Swap Shop events and talk to attendees, answer questions and distribute info.

I emailed Gwen to thank her, Ann and Harry and all their volunteers and, in her reply, she was especially pleased that our representative had had contact with the attendees and heard how we had helped some of them and others who wanted guidance and had questions.

Thank you again to them for their continued support and also to all our donors who support us every year. We couldn't do it without your efforts for our association. Thank you.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended the cream teas yesterday, we really appreciate your support. Special thanks to Nicki and Graham for creating a special setting under the shade of the trees, and for all their hard work before and during the event. A massive shout out to Susan for very generously baking and donating the delicious scones, and to Myriam Delahaye for the loan of the hot water urn. As always a big Thank You to all the volunteers for prepping, serving and loads of washing up. We're very pleased to announce that we raised the fantastic sum of 293,50€.This will help us continue supporting English speakers touched by cancer in France. Sharron and Karen.

What a fabulous evening we had at Chez Isa in Saint-Sulpice-les-Feuilles for Nick"s Quiz Night.
We were very kindly invited to run a raffle during the evening and what a success it was!!
The final verified total collected and donated was 856€. A magnificent amount.
Our massive thanks go to everyone who attended and were so generous with donations.
Thank you to our very special friends and supporters Nick and Julia. Nick for running an excellent quiz and Julia for her research for the quiz. and both of them for asking us to attend and run a raffle for our association
Our special thanks go to Isabelle, the owner of the restaurant for very kindly donating 2€ for every person that attended making a fantastic donation of 150€. She also generously donated meals for two at Passe Muraille at Le Souterrain and the Auberge de Lac Mondon, which were auctioned by Nick and raised another 170€ and also she donated a beautiful display of flowers.
Special thanks also to Jodie at La Licorne in Magnac-Laval for their donation of lunch for two, Julie and Jo, at Chez Julie and Chez Jo for their the donation of a round of cocktails for four people and Inge Ligchaam for her donation of a free massage session at her salon Recoin de la roche sauna et massage at Brigueil-le-Chantre.
Thank you to all the wonderful supporter and attendees for the donations for the raffle prizes. We had over 60 prizes on the night!
This amount of money allows us to help those English speakers, of any language, touched by cancer in France. We provide one-to-one emotional support for those touched by cancer and the family and friends either over the phone, by email, by social media and face-to-face. We also help with hospital visits, providing language support and moral support and help with translation and completion of documentation.

Our friends from Bussière-Poitevine raised a huge amount 1.223,72 euros at their recent Popup dinner. This will be allocated to ongoing training our Active Listeners and Language support teams. THANK YOU.

News from Cancer Support France National.
On Saturday 25th July 2026 a British cyclist arrived in Paris having completed the 311 mile journey from London to Paris in support of Cancer Support France.
The cyclist, Ewan, was met by a team from CSF Paris Île de France who welcomed him over the finish line with encouraging cheers and applause.
Ewan’s family was supported over the years by trained volunteers from two of our thirteen affiliate regional associations, all of whom provide a completely free and confidential service. Cancer Support France receives no public funding, and every donation received helps us to continue our work supporting English speaking people – of all nationalities – in France touched by cancer.

Our CSF team in the Correze reports:-

Saturday 18 July - Our second Ceilidh, and another amazing afternoon!

Amazing, not only because so many people turned up in incredible heat to dance at our Ceilidh, held in the southern part of the Corrèze, but also because they really generously contributed 200€ to Cancer Support France, just for the pleasure of doing so.

Our heartfelt thanks to the organisers who gave their time so freely, and to those who heroically danced the afternoon away.'
