Set up in 1976, Geres is an international development NGO which works to improve the living conditions of the poorest and tackle climate change and its impacts. As a grassroots actor, the energy transition is a major lever in all its actions. In order to drive societal change, Geres promotes the development and dissemination of innovative and local solutions, supports climate-energy policies and a

ctions and encourages everyone to commit to Climate Solidarity by taking action and supporting vulnerable populations.

🌍 Strengthening climate resilience in Central Asia!

In Dushanbe, four new projects have officially been launched under the Small Grants and Climate Innovation Facility (SGCIF) — supporting local communities in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to build a more climate-resilient future.

These initiatives, funded by UK International Development (FCDO) and implemented through GIZ, bring together organizations including GERES, Camp Alatoo, WHH, Bargi Sabz, CREEED, Helvetas, Youth of Osh, ECOJER, and Sharikon Baroi Rushd.

From regenerative agriculture and water-smart farming to energy-efficient homes and renewable energy technologies — these projects demonstrate how regional cooperation can turn innovation into lasting climate action.

🌍 Energy transition is built together — across borders.

In Mongolia, Geres supports the energy-efficient renovation of traditional ger districts — a major social and climate challenge.
Through active international cooperation, public, financial and technical actors from Mongolia, France and Belgium are joining forces to share expertise, economic models and solutions tailored to local realities.

🤝 These exchanges strengthen Mongolian decision-makers’ capacity to build an enabling framework for energy renovation, while paving the way for long-term partnerships with European institutions.

A strong example of climate solidarity and shared innovation for a fairer, more sustainable future.
