Join us for a very special evening with an author in Angers on Monday, September 28, 2026, 6:30 – 8:30 pm at the Musée des Beaux-Arts.

Pulitzer Prize-winning author Viet Thanh Nguyen and French graphic novelist Antoine Ozanam will join Barbara Diggs in conversation as they explore the newly released French graphic novel Le Sympathisant, adapted from Nguyen's acclaimed novel The Sympathizer.

They will discuss the creative process of adapting a literary novel into a graphic work; how memory, identity, and politics take on new dimensions through visual storytelling; what is gained and what is inevitably omitted in the art of adaptation; and why the novel's exploration of the Vietnam War and its legacy continues to be so resonant today.

The conversation will be followed by a reception and book signing. Space is limited so we recommend registering as soon as possible at grandwestlit.com.

This event is being held in partnership with the English-language Library in Angers and Grand West Lit Events.

Que vous ayez 3 ans ou 99 ans, la bibliothèque offre des activités en anglais pour tous les âges et les niveaux! Notre mission est de vous offrir un environnement accueillant et accessible pour permettre aux participants de pratiquer leur anglais et prendre confiance en eux. Si vous souhaitez améliorer votre anglais oral cette année, alors vous êtes au bon endroit!

Tarifs :

• Activités : 170 €
• Cotisation annuelle : 20 € pour les enfants / 50 € pour les adultes

Dear Library members, the library will be closed from Saturday, July 11 to Tuesday, September 1.
While we are closed for the public, the team and some volunteers are hard at work at preparing the busy back to school period and the upcoming move in the fall.
We can’t wait to see you all again in September!

As part of a partnership with the , we are organising 2 LitCrawls at the Jean-Lurçat Museum this Saturday!
There are 2 sessions:
- 2pm 🇬🇧 : guided tour with a curator and dramatised readings. Both the tour and the visit are in English.
- 4pm 🇬🇧🇫🇷: guided tour with a curator and dramatised readings. The tour is in French and the readings are in English.
