Alloue Equine Rescue is a french registered Horse rescue association based in Alloue 16490 France. We rescue horses, donkeys, mules and ponies.

Our rescue is run by volunteers and funded by donations and fund raising events.

Thank you to everyone that has contacted us about an advert on Facebook asking for help for an abandoned horse.

We had several people contact us after they had seen the advert as well as the lady that had posted the advert for her friend.
We spoke on the telephone to the lady's friend on Tuesday evening and agreed to visit the horse the following morning.

Just over an hour's drive from Alloue Equine Rescue.

I visited the horse yesterday.
She has not been abandoned.
Her owner visits once a week, although in our opinion this is not enough he is still visiting.

The horse has plenty to eat in her field and is currently over weight which is not helped by the daily carrots and apples that she is being fed by the concerned lady and her husband.
I have asked them to stop feeding and explained why and they fully understand.
She has a good supply of water.
She does have some signs of old fly bites on her shoulder but these have healed.
I treated her for flies yesterday.
The owner has agreed for a lovely knowledgeable neighbour to take on her care.
I left fly treatment with the neighbour yesterday.
Her hoof has finally broken away as it would in the wild and the piece in the photo we were sent is no longer attached and her feet are good for a semi wild horse.
The horse is in her late 20's and has lived in this field for at least 20 years.
As you can see from the photo I took, she is a beautiful horse.

George is back Home with his owner Sue !!!!!
Thank you to everyone that took the time to share our post and for keeping your eyes open for him.

This beautiful dog is missing.
His owner Sue is desperate to find him.
Please help me find George. Lost around Chassiecq 16350 at 10.15am today. He doesn't have his collar on and he's nervous so will bark at you but won't bite. Please call me on 0780474512 thank you.

A Huge thank you to Shaun and Steve of the Auberge du noyer for dedicating their quiz night to Alloue Equine Rescue this month.
It was a great fun night with delicious sausage and mash.

Today we collected an amazing gift of 15 large round bales of hay.
The lady and gentlemen had seen our appeal for hay and decided to donate 15 large rounds to Alloue Equine Rescue which we collected this morning.

Due to the awful rain on Wednesday we delayed collecting hay until this morning.
Today's first load of 8 large round bales loaded, paid for and on our way back to the rescue.
Several more trips to do today.
Thank you to everyone that has donated towards the purchase of these bales.
So far we have raised 270€ towards our goal of 400€.

Alloue Equine Rescue
Update re appeal for donations of hay or funds to purchase hay.

We have received two donations of 100€ via PayPal towards our appeal for hay = 200€.
Today we purchased and collected 10 bales of hay from a local farmer with these donations but need more hay due to the very wet winter followed by Storm Nills.

We have now very kindly been offered 40 bales of hay at 10€ a bale, an amazing total price of 400€ from a very kind supporter.
We will start collecting the 40 bales on Wednesday but will need to pay for them asap.

Alloue Equine Rescue
In December we received a donation of 500€ from the wonderful Ark 79 Animal Charity Association and a donation of 1000€ from the equally wonderful Hope79 Pour Les Animaux .
This paid for 3 deliveries of hay at the beginning of December.
Thank you to everyone for their continued support ###

Sadly with all the rain we have been having, with much more rain expected we have almost used all of the hay that was delivered and now need to purchase more.

Happy New Year
2025 has gone, welcome to 2026.
We attended 97 call outs for equines in distress in 2025. The need for our assistance continues.
Rescue is hard, rescue is distressing, rescue is hope, rescue is love, rescue is rewarding, rescue is love ###x
