SA YADRA VINAKA.

I would like to share my testimony and how the trainings provided by Lifebread Stay Connected Foundation - Fiji Foundation Fiji have helped shape the person I am today.

In December 2023, I attended my first Confident Woman Training. I joined with my mother and a few older ladies, and this training changed my life spiritually, emotionally, and physically. It helped me build confidence, strengthen my faith, improve my self-esteem, and believe in myself.

Since then, I have attended several other trainings, including PACWEEP Contemporary Weaving & Fabric Art, Generate Your Business Idea, Screen Printing, Women in Leadership, Bridal Setting & Décor, and Digital Marketing & Small Business Skills.

These trainings have taught me valuable skills in fabric art, weaving, making Tekiteki and earrings, business planning, budgeting, saving, customer service, leadership, event decorating, and digital marketing. They have also helped me improve my communication skills, grow my small business, and become more confident in helping and teaching other women.

Today, I am proud to use these skills in my small business and to share my knowledge with women who are willing to learn. I am truly grateful for every opportunity that has helped me grow personally, spiritually, and financially.

Vinaka Vakalevu to Lifebread Stay Connected Foundation Fiji for inspiring, empowering, and supporting women. Thank you for helping me become the woman I am today.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." — Philippians 4:13

Keep praying, keep learning, and never give up. 🙏❤️

🌺 We are proud to share this inspiring story from the Australian High Commission, Fiji as part of the Faces of Vuvale series, highlighting the power of partnership between Fiji and Australia.

BA WOMENS RUGBY ASSOCIATION, a grantee partner of Women's Fund Fiji, is creating opportunities for women and girls to thrive through sport, leadership, and community engagement.

Their journey reflects the strength, resilience, and determination of women who continue to challenge barriers and create positive change in their communities.

With the support of Australia, Women’s Fund Fiji is able to invest in women-led organisations such as Ba Women's Rugby Association, helping advance gender equality and amplify the voices and leadership of women and girls across Fiji.

Vinaka vakalevu to the Australia High Commission in Fiji for shining a light on the incredible work being led by women in our communities.

⏳ Closes at 5PM TODAY‼️

On Kioa Island, far from Fiji’s mainland, opportunity has not always been easy to reach.
For many women and girls, leadership existed quietly in homes, in schools, and behind the scenes.
But that is changing.
Through the work of our grantee partner, Fiji Girl Guides Association, women in this remote maritime community are stepping into leadership with confidence and purpose. What began as empowerment training has grown into a movement that is reshaping how leadership is seen and practiced.

Today, women across Kioa are stepping forward:
📚 Supporting learning and education
🧵 Sharing skills and knowledge
👩🏽‍🏫 Leading within schools and communities
🤝 Contributing to decisions that shape their future

Leadership is no longer limited to titles or positions, it is being embraced by every woman and girl.
Schools have become hubs of collaboration and inclusion.
Girls now grow up seeing strong, visible role models around them.
Communities are more engaged, connected, and driven by women’s leadership.

Even without a direct presence, Women's Fund Fiji is reaching remote islands like Kioa through partners like the Fiji Girl Guide Association, ensuring no woman is left behind, no matter how far.
✔️ Confidence strengthened
✔️ Leadership expanded
✔️ Communities mobilised
This is the power of investing in women and girls in even the most isolated places.
This is what real, lasting change looks like.

C O U N T D O W N ⤵️ 🐄🥛🍄

Around 8 years ago, women dairy farmers in Naitasiri faced a serious challenge.
After milking, they would leave their milk by the roadside for collection which was often exposed to the scorching sun for hours. By the time it reached the factory, the quality had dropped significantly.
Sometimes, the milk spoiled completely.
Hard work wasted. Income lost.
But these women refused to accept that as their reality.
The Naitasiri Women in Dairy Group (NWDG), initially made up of 26 determined women, came together to support one another and find solutions in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
With support from Women’s Fund Fiji and partners, the group was able to:
✅ Construct and upgrade milk stands and sheds — protecting milk from heat and contamination
✅ Access cattle support, helping increase milk production
✅ Strengthen farming practices through shared knowledge and collective work
✔️ Milk quality improved
✔️ Waste reduced
✔️ Income increased
________________________________________

Today, NWDG, now with over 40 members, is a strong example of what collective action can achieve.
The women meet every Monday, working together on each other’s farms to improve dairy production and build sustainable livelihoods. What began as shared learning has grown into a supportive and resilient network of women farmers.
NWDG has expanded into mushroom farming and led movement-building activities that bring women across Naitasiri together.
From improved milk sheds to stronger governance and new skills in financial literacy and first aid, the group continues to grow.
Their journey shows that when women are supported, they create opportunities and strengthen entire communities.

C O U N T D O W N ⤵️ 🐝 🍯

A few months ago, Naqara resident Anasimeci Veidigidigi harvested honey from her beehive for the very first time.

Today, she is regularly harvesting and selling honey as a source of income, turning her effort into a sustainable livelihood.

Through her commitment and determination and with the support of the Taveuni Empowerment Women Support Group (TEWSG), Anasimeci is now economically empowered, earning for her household and building a more secure future.

Her journey began through an Economic Empowerment Programme supported by Women's Fund Fiji, where she received training, mentorship, and ongoing support.

What started as learning a new skill has grown into a small business that continues to sustain her and her family. Anasimeci’s success is a powerful reminder: when women are supported, they thrive.
