e. To counter this, IAYSP offers a vision with clear goals, based on universal, time-tested principles that allow young people to look beyond immediate self-gratification. IAYSP provides hope for a world of peace that empowers and motivates youth to lead. Creating a Culture of Peace
Deterring aggression is the job of the army and police; creating peace is the responsibility of every citizen. There are two fundamental standards for peace-building: i) altruism or preferring others above one’s self, and ii) the family as the school of love and cornerstone of social order. Supporting the SDGs of the United Nation
IAYSP promotes projects supporting the United Nations in two ways. First, IAYSP service projects are linked the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. This connection is both by design and in the project reports. Secondly, many of the UN international days, such as the International Youth Day, the International Day of Peace, the World Interfaith Harmony Week, are celebrated by our chapters throughout the world.
