Since 2021, 'Soli Bula' has been screening in Film Festivals around the world, from Otaki, New Zealand to Los Angeles, USA, even Inari, Finland. And since then, Fijians have been asking, 'when can we watch it?'

Well, it's finally time to bring it home. On May 10th (not March 10th as it says on the poster, that's a typo, vosota), we will be having a special, 1 night only, public screening at Cinema 3, Damodar City, Suva of 'Soli Bula' to celebrate the end of its film festival circuit and its return to Fiji.

To make it even more special, we will have presentations by the film's crew, starting with the Director, Tumeli Tuqota. He'll speak on the origin of the film, its journey and its impact on us all. Also presenting will be the film's cultural consultant, Simione Sevudredre, who will speak on the deep research that informed the film and its tone. Finally, the Art Director, Tui Ledua, will speak on the art and style of the film.

Appetisers will be available in the Cinema Lounge at 7pm, before moving into the Cinema for the film event at 8pm.

Tickets are selling at $20 a seat. To purchase your ticket, please email: [email protected] for more information, or DM this account.

Don't miss this chance to view 'Soli Bula' on the big screen and hear from its creators.

Pacific artists, please apply! ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒ€๐Ÿ’™

Pacific artists are invited to submit their expressions of interest for a three-month artist in residence position at the University of Canterburyโ€™s Macmillan Brown Centre for Pacific Studies, funded by Creative New Zealand.

The applicants will have some expertise and experience in any one of the following areas: fine art, carving, tattooing, music, weaving, pottery, dancing, graphic design, poetry, creative writing, digital art, new media art and other forms of creative expression.

The residency aims to promote Pacific artistic innovation to the university community, nationally, regionally and internationally. We are particularly interested to see proposals that engage creatively with ideas relating to environmental protection, climate crisis response and community sustainability. We see this as an opportunity to support practices that contribute to the wellbeing of our communities and planet.

For more information or to apply:

The Creative New Zealand/Macmillan Brown Pacific Artist in Residence Programme has been offered on an annual basis since 1996.
