Interesting update on the Agriculture industry for Fiji.

FIJI NATIONAL ORGANIC POLICY 2026–2030

Cabinet has approved the implementation of the Fiji National Organic Policy 2026–2030, which provides strategic direction to strengthen the organic agriculture sector and support sustainable, climate-resilient, and inclusive agricultural development.

The policy aims to expand organic production, enhance market demand, and improve livelihoods while contributing to national food security and environmental conservation.

The policy sets out key targets, including increasing certified organic land, boosting organic exports, and promoting wider consumption of locally grown organic produce. It also outlines actions to strengthen value chains, certification systems, and institutional frameworks, supporting farmers and agribusinesses to access premium markets and adopt sustainable farming practices.

The initiative is expected to enhance economic opportunities, strengthen climate resilience, and support Fiji’s broader sustainable development objectives.

📣The Fiji Climate Adaptation Program (FCAP) Grants Round 1 is now open!

Fiji and Australia are supporting community-led nature-based interventions to reduce flood risk in the Nadi Catchment.

📌Who can apply?
* Are you a registered not-for-profit NGO in Fiji or Australia?
* Organisations working with communities in the Nadi Catchment
* Experience in nature based solutions and environmental flood mitigation

📌What can be funded?
* Tree planting on farms to reduce flooding
* Restoring riverbanks with native vegetation
* Agroforestry to improve soils and crop resilience
* Farming practices that slow water and protect land

Projects that actively promote gender equity and women’s participation in leadership and decision making will be assessed favourably.

📢 UNDP Pacific Office, under the Governance for Resilient Development in the Pacific (Gov4Res) project, invites qualified service providers to submit proposals for the Capacity Strengthening and Learning Service under the Small Grants Initiative (SGI) Phase 2.
