Tree Planting Initiative – Navola Village

As part of today’s program, we were also privileged to take part in a meaningful Tree Planting Initiative aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and building a greener future for our communities.

A total of 200+ tree seedlings were generously provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, enabling youths to actively participate in this important environmental effort.

A sincere thank you to the villagers of Navola for kindly providing the land for this initiative.

Over the past three days, the Tailevu Provincial Youth Council (TPYC) has been actively participating in the National Youth Council (NYC) National Executive Board (NEB) Meeting and Soundway Workshop held at Navola Village in Nadroga.

The TPYC was proudly represented by its President, Mr. Jeremaia Merekula, joining fellow leaders as part of the 15 Provincial Youth Forums of Fiji. The NYC Board consists of a total of 30 members, with 15 reserved seats for the Youth Assemblies of Fiji and 15 representing the Provincial Youth Councils of Fiji.

Accompanying our TPYC President at this important NEB Meeting were Mr. Joji Seniloli and Mr. Mitieli Ravudolo, whose presence and support contributed to meaningful discussions and engagement throughout the gathering.

We acknowledge and commend their commitment to representing Tailevu and contributing towards the development and empowerment of youth across Fiji.

The Tailevu Provincial Youth Council was honored to be represented today at the Bose Ni Yasana o Tailevu held at the Nausori Village Hall.

The TPYC delegation was led by the President, Mr. Jeremaia Merekula, alongside Vice President Rusiate Baleinakasaleka, Assistant Secretary Mitieli Ravudolo, and Vasiti Tabucakau.

During the meeting, the President delivered a brief report highlighting the Council’s ongoing programs and important updates for the year ahead.

Key updates presented included:

📌 TPYC Annual General Meeting (AGM) – to be held in July
📌 Youth Workers Workshop – scheduled from the 15th–20th of June, 2025 (In partnership with NYC and PAS)
📌 TPYC Elections – to be conducted during the AGM
📌 Siga Kei Luvei Tailevu – earmarked for the end of the year celebrations

The Council remains committed to empowering and engaging the youth of Tailevu through leadership, development programs, and community collaboration.

Vinaka vakalevu to the Bose Ni Yasana o Tailevu for the opportunity to share and strengthen our collective vision for the youths of Tailevu.

PROVINCIAL YOUTH FORUM OF FIJI
National Executive Board Meeting

The Tailevu Provincial Youth Council Committee represented by our President Jeremaia Merekula and Vice President Rusiate Baleinakasaleka was part of the PYFF NEB Board Meeting that was hosted by Lau Provincial Youth Council Last week.

We were glad to be part of some meaningful and robust conversations with leaders from the other 13 provinces including Rotuma.
