Happy Pride Month from Mending Minds Foundation whanau!

This June, we advocate for the resilience, beauty, and strength of our rainbow communities across Fiji and the Pacific. Pride is more than a celebration, it is a movement of love, dignity, and solidarity. Together, we honor diversity, challenge stigma, and uplift voices that deserve to be heard.

Let’s carry the island spirit of unity and joy into every space we touch. 🌈

IDAHOBIT 2026 — Mental Health is Pride in Action!

"Discrimination doesn’t only silence voices — it erodes mental health" - Prem Singh (She/Her), Founder / Executive Director - MMF (Fiji)

On this IDAHOBIT Day, Mending Minds Foundation reaffirms that inclusion is a mental health imperative.

When LGBTQI+ people feel safe, seen, and supported, communities thrive.

Let’s transform stigma into solidarity and ensure that mental health systems across Fiji and the Pacific reflect the dignity of every identity.

Yesterday’s Mental Health Awareness Session was deeply meaningful afternoon of conversation, reflection, and learning. I felt privileged to deliver the keynote address and serve as a panelist, advocating for mental health awareness among families, communities, and human rights defenders.

I’m especially grateful to the stakeholders who responded to my outreach and accepted the invitation to attend at short notice — your presence and support made the dialogue richer and more collaborative. This connection and shared commitment remind me how powerful partnership can be in advancing mental wellbeing and human rights across Fiji and the Pacific.

Thank you to the organizers, partners, and participants for creating a space of hope, healing, and solidarity.

As communities across Fiji and the Pacific celebrate Ram Navmi and Eid, we honor the spirit of renewal, compassion, and unity that both festivals embody.

At Mending Minds Foundation, we believe that joy and resilience are strengthened when no one is left behind. May these sacred days remind us to nurture kindness, embrace diversity, and walk together in solidarity — across faiths, cultures, and identities.

From our team to yours: may your homes be filled with light, your hearts with peace, and your journeys with hope.

Ram Navmi ki shubhkamnayein & Eid Mubarak!

International Women’s Day Message – From the Pasifika to the World

Today, we rise.

We pay tribute to the trailblazers, the history makers, the women who refused silence and carved paths where none existed. International Women’s Day is not a ritual—it is a reminder of purpose, a call to courage, a demand for justice.

From the sweatshops to the parliaments, from the villages to the boardrooms, women have carried the weight of history and reshaped it with resilience. This day is not about scratching the surface with polite advocacy—it is about being unapologetically real. Fierce. Hopeful. A wake-up call to the world that equality is not charity, it is overdue.

We call all women to gather—not just in body, but in spirit, in vision, in courage, united across oceans and borders. From the Pasifika to the world, we declare: our voices will not be muted, our dreams will not be deferred, our rights will not be negotiated away.

This is our time to honor the past, ignite the present, and demand a future where every woman, everywhere, lives free, equal, and unafraid.

Let the world hear us. Let the world change with us.💜

"Patriarchy doesn’t always look like men. Sometimes, it looks like women standing guard at the gates" - Ms. Prem Singh

We see this paradox every day. The resistance isn’t always external - it can be internal, shaped by gatekeeping and silence. Naming this truth is not about blame - it’s about accountability. It’s about refusing to let toxic cultures thrive unchallenged.

At Mending Minds Foundation, we confront this truth head-on. Advocacy is not just about dismantling systems - it’s about naming complicity wherever it hides. Silence is not an option.

We carry fire in our voices, dignity in our stance, and truth in our work. Every time we speak this reality, we carve space for healing and systemic change. This is not just advocacy, it’s movement-building.

To everyone walking the path of recovery—welcome to another year. This calendar change does not erase or reset your efforts. Not in the slightest.

Every step you took last year—whether 3 years, 3 months, or 3 days sober—comes with you. Your days, your months, your years of courage are not wiped away. They are carried forward. They continue. They grow. They blossom. They expand.

Recovery is not bound by dates. It is built by persistence, by resilience, by the quiet victories that stack up into something extraordinary. This year is not a new start—it is a continuation of your strength, your story, your becoming. 💪

Keep building. Keep blooming. Keep counting.

Mending Minds Foundation Fiji joins the nation in mourning the passing of Dr. Jemesa, a towering figure in our health landscape.

As Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, he led with vision and compassion, guiding Fiji through immense challenges. To us, he was a steadfast ally—his wisdom, openness, and commitment to holistic wellbeing strengthened our mission of care and advocacy.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, colleagues, and the medical fraternity. His legacy of service and humanity will continue to inspire us.

Moce mada, Dr. Jemesa. Vinaka vakalevu for your leadership and heart. 🕊

Human rights are not complete without mental health.

Today we remind the world: the right to heal, to rest, to resist, and to rise belongs to everyone.

In the Pacific, feminist activists and healers carry the weight of patriarchy, colonial wounds, and intergenerational trauma - yet they are too often left without the mental health support they deserve. Their courage is not “comfort,” it is survival. Their healing is not silence, it is resistance.

📢 We demand recognition:
- Mental health is a human right, not a privilege.
- Feminist healers and activists must be supported, not sanctioned, for speaking truth to power.
- Communities thrive when those who resist oppression are cared for, not left to swim alone against the tide.

On this Human Rights Day, MMF calls for justice in healing:
✔️ Support for every activist, every healer, every woman who dares to name oppression and still chooses to mend.
✔️ Investment in mental health care that honors dignity, ancestry, and feminist resistance.
✔️ A Pacific where healing is not solitary, but collective, fiery, and unapologetic.

Because without mental health, human rights remain incomplete.
