The goal of the World Original Nordic Walking Federation (ONWF) is to encourage people everywhere to enhance their wellbeing through the practise of fitness walking. To further this the ONWF undertakes to establish itself as the vanguard of the principles of Nordic Walking and to serve the entire community from grass roots individuals to clubs, fitness associations, public bodies and national or international Nordic Walking organisations. All people are welcome as constituents regardless of age, ethnicity, culture, fitness condition or aspiration.

🇮🇪🇬🇧🔥 IRELAND, UNITED KINGDOM - GET READY! KASIA TARNOWSKA JOINS THE ONWF MASTER TRAINER TEAM! ❤️

It all began with passion. With those first Nordic Walking steps near Barlinek, Poland. Today, that journey has brought Kasia to a new milestone: training future instructors and sharing her passion across borders! 🌍🙌

Meet Katarzyna “Kasia” Tarnowska - a physiotherapist, holistic therapist, and Nordic Walking instructor whose knowledge and enthusiasm have already inspired hundreds of people. We are delighted to welcome her to the ONWF Master Trainer team! 🎓👏

❤️ This story holds a special meaning for us. In 2016, Kasia completed her instructor training with Marcin and Helena Szulc from Marsz Po Zdrowie. Now, she will prepare new instructors to share their own knowledge and passion. What a wonderful reminder that inspiring one person can eventually reach hundreds more!

🌿 Originally from Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland, Kasia graduated in physiotherapy from the University School of Physical Education in Poznań. For eight years, she has worked at Obus Holistic Centre, combining her physiotherapy background with massage, aromatherapy, and reflexology. After moving to Ireland, she also began incorporating Nordic Walking into her individual work with patients.

Since 2023, she has worked with Nordic Fitness Ireland, and since 2024, with Dublin Phoenix Nordic Walking Club. Over the past two years, she has trained more than 250 people! 🔥

🤝 Behind those numbers are people taking their first steps, discovering the joy of movement, and building friendships. Creating a welcoming, supportive Nordic Walking community is at the heart of Kasia’s mission.

🌍🔥 AFRICA, LET'S WALK TOGETHER! Three Countries, Seven New ONWF Instructors, One Shared Dream - Nordic Walking Connects Us! 🙌❤️

Sometimes, great international cooperation begins with a simple introduction, a professional exchange of ideas, and a willingness to share knowledge. 🤝 This is how the story of developing ONWF Nordic Walking in Benin, West Africa, began.

In September–October 2026, a training programme took place in Porto-Novo, bringing together sports professionals, educators, researchers, and coaches with a shared goal: to make Nordic Walking an accessible and effective tool for health, physical activity, and rehabilitation. 🌱

🌍 The outcome: 32 participants took part in the training, and 7 new instructors successfully completed the instructor training programme! They represent three African countries and bring diverse professional backgrounds, including physical education, sports science, adapted physical activity, and scientific research.

☀️ The programme combined theoretical learning, practical sessions on a sports court and outdoor trails, training in challenging hot-weather conditions, and a final assessment of knowledge.

We are completely blown away by your energy!
