👩🏼‍🏭👨🏾‍🔬 𝙍𝙀𝙆𝙍𝙔𝙈𝙀𝙎𝙎𝙐𝙏 – 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

On April 22, as part of the , , WIISE successfully hosted another 𝙍𝙚𝙠𝙧𝙮𝙢𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙩 event, bringing together talented international students with organisations and companies from across Etelä-Pohjanmaa.

16 companies offered training places and over 150 students attended, who were looking for internships and training places to help them complete their studies. The day was filled with meaningful conversations with new connections who were offering exciting opportunities for the future.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made the event so impactful! 🤝

💚 According to legend, masala chai originated thousands of years ago at the court of an ancient Indian or Thai king. This drink, made with milk, tea, spices, and sugar, is now popular in cafes all over the world, though many chai drinks have evolved from their original form. Come taste this warm, refreshing drink and enjoy some snacks while discussing coffee cultures. You’ll hear a presentation on the history of chai, learn which spices are used in chai, and discover how to make roasted spice mix and chai yourself.

Organised by Etelä-Pohjanmaan WIISE ry in collaboration with the Seinäjoki Parish’s educational institution and multicultural work and SEAMK’s Tilaa kulttuureille - Room for Cultures project. The event is supported by the Kotoutuminen.fi partnership program.

💚 Legendan mukaan masala chai sai alkunsa tuhansia vuosia sitten muinaisen intialaisen tai thaimaalaisen kuninkaan hovissa. Tämä maidosta, teestä, mausteista ja sokerista valmistettu juoma on nykyään suosittu kahviloissa ympäri maailmaa, vaikka monet chai-juomat ovatkin kehittyneet alkuperäisestä muodostaan. Tule maistamaan tätä lämmintä, virkistävää juomaa ja nauttimaan pikkupurtavista samalla kun keskustellaan kahvikulttuureista. Kuulet esityksen chain historiasta, opit, mitä mausteita chaiin käytetään, ja opit valmistamaan paahdettua mausteseosta ja chai-juomaa itse. Tapahtuman ohjelma on suomen- ja englanninkielinen.

New project for immigrants, at Seinäjoki, by Uusyrityskeskus Neuvoa-antava

Etelä-Pohjanmaan Uusyrityskeskus käynnisti 2.3.2026 ESR+ -hankkeen "Maahanmuuttajasta yrittäjäksi Etelä-Pohjanmaalla", jonka tavoitteena on tukea maahanmuuttajataustaisten henkilöiden yrittäjyyttä ja vahvistaa heidän rooliaan paikallisessa elinkeinoelämässä.

Monilla maahanmuuttajilla on vahvaa osaamista ja yrittäjäkokemusta, m***a yritystoiminnan käynnistämistä voivat hidastaa mm. kieli, byrokratia sekä verkostojen puute. Hanke vastaa tähän tarjoamalla kohdennettua ja käytännönläheistä tukea.

Keskiössä uusi tukihenkilöpalvelu
Pilotissa kehitetään henkilökohtainen tukimalli, jossa osallistuja saa rinnalleen tukihenkilön koko yrittäjyyspolun ajaksi – ideasta ensimmäiseen toimintavuoteen. Tuki kattaa mm. liiketoimintasuunnittelun, viranomaisasiat, rahoituksen sekä verkostoitumisen osa-alueita tarpeen mukaan.

Tavoitteena madaltaa yrittäjyyden kynnystä
Hanke lisää tietoisuutta yrittäjyydestä, vahvistaa valmiuksia toimia yrittäjänä ja tukee kannattavan liiketoiminnan rakentamista.
Kokonaisuus sisältää toimenpiteitä, jotka yhdistävät henkilökohtaisen ohjauksen, koulutuksen ja verkostot yrittäjyyspolun tueksi.

Hankkeen projektipäällikkönä aloitti Tero Eklund ja oman yritysneuvontatyönsä rinnalla osa-aikaisena hanketyöntekijänä toimii Emma Varis.

Insightful Company Visit - EEPEE as an employer 9.4.26.

🌱 Thank you to everyone who attended the “Insightful Company Visit – EEPEE as an Employer” event. Etelä-Pohjanmaan WIISE members in attendance included students and professionals from fields such as business, engineering, education, the food industry, the restaurant & hospitality industry, sales, and visual production.

👨‍🍳 Restaurant Manager Jussi Määttänen from Ravintola Amarillo spoke about his career path & current work at EEPEE. Resource Manager Elina Mäki-Opas Etelä-Pohjanmaan Osuuskauppa discussed various job responsibilities, the organisation’s values, the job application process, and career development opportunities at the EEPEE cooperative.

👨‍🍳 In customer service roles at EEPEE’s restaurants and hotels, Finnish (or Swedish) is the language of service. It is important to get details right, such as allergens. You may be able to apply for other job roles with EEPEE while your Finnish language skills improve. A career path always starts somewhere.

💚 Although this year’s summer employees had already been selected and only a few positions remained open at this stage, the participants immediately said they had enjoyed the event. They appreciated the general information provided and the discussion that took place, which will help them plan for their future.
