Do you want to improve your Swedish skills? Do you want to speak Swedish at your own level with the support of others who share the same interest? Then the group “Öva Svenska” is something for you.

Every Wednesday, starting on September 9, 2026 at 5:30 PM, we meet at the cultural center Grand, Biskopsgatan 28, to talk and socialize around different themes.

Soon it will be time for the Porvoo Light Festival again, during which you can participate in the annual Winter Bazaar!

There is an opportunity to reserve one of 14 sales kiosks down by the river during the festival. Ida Julin, Marketing Specialist at Arcada University of Applied Sciences, highlighting Swedish- and English language programs and the application process.

This session is especially timely, as applications for Hanken and Arcada will open soon.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Christmas Mingle at Open Living Room in Borgå! It was a truly multilingual and multicultural evening where participants spoke Swedish, German, Russian, Finnish, English, Ukrainian and more.

Guests enjoyed Christmas Bingo, a holiday-themed quiz, music, snacks and warm glögg. The atmosphere was cosy and friendly, and it was wonderful to meet new people as well as reconnect with familiar faces. There was plenty of time for conversation, sharing experiences and simply enjoying the seasonal spirit together.

Our team was very happy to welcome you in Borgå! We wish you a peaceful Christmas season and hope that the New Year brings joy, interesting encounters and many good moments into your life!
