Winter Swimming World Championship 2026 this week in Oulu. The Ambassador of Great Britain, Laura Davies opened the World Record Relay.
Members of the ECO were cheering her! 🤩🤩🤩 It was great to meet her so soon after the Burns Supper in January.

” A major exhibition of Sámi art and duodji explores the diversity, resilience and
sustainability of Sámi culture."

-5pm: We´ll meet at the Art Cafe Kaari
-6pm: A guided tour in English (45minutes)
The ECO´ll pay the fee of the guide, so the event is for members
(free membership).

Yesterday, January 24th 2026, The English Club of Oulu in co-operation with the teachers and students of the Educational Consortium OSAO organized the world´s northernmost (according to our knowledge) Burns Supper at the Teaching resrtaurant Hilikku.

Dear friends,
We still have tickets left for the Burns Supper on January 24th.

But what does "Traditional Burns Supper Program" mean?
Well, we´ll hear Scottish backpipe piping, Scottish music played by a band, poetry by Burns, funny speeches and we´ll have a raffle with Scottish items as prizes and - of course - we all´ll sing "Auld Lang Syne", which´ll finnish the event.

We kindly ask you to pay your tickets at the latest on January 14th.

The fee, 60€, includes the program, food (also vegetarian version) and a welcoming drink as well as a glass of wine (with or without alcohol).

Last Saturday, on March 29th 2025 The English Club of Oulu celebrated its 90th Anniversary, Granite Jubilee (as our chair Heather Kannasmaa called it)

And what an evening we had! Wonderful people, great speeches, lovely music and delicious food. What more could you need?

The English Club of Oulu celebrates its 90th Anniversary this year 2025!
That is a good reason to have a special offer: the membership fee 2025 is 0€.
