STOP THE PRESS!

We have a Guest of Honour. Please welcome E. J. Swift, the winner of 2026 Arthur C. Clarke award for best book and the 2026 British Science Fiction Award for best novel of the year with her latest novel When There Are Wolves Again.

Also in news, there is a website, that has info and will have MORE info in the future of the things, that will affect us all in the future.

258 days to go. That's when there is Åcon again, the 15th of its name! Twenty years since the very first one in 2007. How swiftly the time flies when you're having FUN! The most fun you can have on a demilitarized zone in fact.

And there will be more fun next year with Åcon 15, with all the usual shenanigans and a great Guest of Honour. Who will it be? Who indeed!

Our Guest of Honour is always a thought-provoking, current (fresh or established) and really interesting author, and our choice for 2027 will definitely tick all those boxes, and then some.

Expect to hear more of Åcon 15 next week, start making your plans for next years early May and wait for further instructions.

Extra special thanks to our lovely Guest of Honour, Emily Tesh, for being super and The Best! We're holding on to that promise of returning in ten years time!

Next year: Åcon 15 - the First Twenty Years! May 6th to 9th 2027. More news, when we have any.

Day After Tomorrow may not have been the best science fiction film of all time, but the day after tomorrow is certainly the Best Day of the Year so far, as then Åcon 14 opens!

There will be everything from hard science to romantic fiction, from readings to quizzes, from talks to … well, more talking. About books! Movies! Games!

Also, an excursion to an art show and an RPG, Matti Järvinen will host our first ever Gloranthan roleplaying session on Saturday morning.. We cannot wait to see you in Mariehamn!

Remember to register, before wandering around, though remember that Thursday is a holiday, so some places may be closed for the day.

Hello everyone! We're almost there, less than a week to go.

Do you have your accommodation affairs in order? Adlon will release our block to the rest of the world, and they were wondering if all of our guests have booked their rooms? Have You? The time to act is NOW!
