EARTHQUAKE IN MYANMAR AND THAILAND

There has been a major earthquake in Myanmar and this has also affected Thailand.

Yesterday Pastor Gum San said that none of the H2O buildings have collapsed but everyone is traumatised and all of the children are crying. Everyone at H2O is safe.

There is no news yet on Gum San or Esther’s family who live in Myanmar. Some of their closest family members live in Mandalay close to the epicentre of the earthquake.

This earthquake registered 7,70 on the Richter Scale and categorised it as a "Major event, with serious damage over large areas and loss of life. "

IMPOSSIBLE TO FARM

You might remember the stories of how our farm came to be. How it had been given to H2O in 2009 free of charge by two men from Germany who were leaving Thailand. The steeply sloping ground with rocky outcrops seemed to many people to be impossible to farm.

Well, last week Peter visited the farm again and had Pastor Gum San give an inventory about what we have growing.

Here it is : 100 Durian trees, 200 Avocado trees, 1000 Arabic coffee plants, 1000 Banana trees, 60 - 70 Rambutan trees, 30 Mango trees, 60 Pineapple plants!

Then around our orphanage buildings we have : Cassava, Lemons, Oranges, Apples, Papaya, and Jack Fruit!

Praise The Lord!!

PS. The man standing on the bamboo bridge is Peter. And the white building on the hillside is the farmers cottage.

CHILDRENS CHRISTMAS

Here are a few pictures showing a part of how our H2O kids and staff celebrated Christmas. The place is the Namtok Pha Charoen National Park which is a three hour drive north from Um-Phang. There were all the children from our orphanage plus some children from the Um-phang slums. Everyone had a wonderful time.
