ESN is organizing a fun task race, and you’re warmly invited to join us! Teams of 2 to 5 can compete and try to earn as many points as possible in 3 out of 5 events, or you can come alone and meet new people while making friends. The top scorers will also receive special ESN prizes! The games include Saving Drunk Teekkari, Canbee, Beaver Slinger, Bottle Fishing, and Skinnarila Theatre. The event takes place from 14:00 to 19:00.

ESN järjestää hauskan rastiradan, ja sinut on lämpimästi tervetullut mukaan! Joukkueet, joissa on 2–5 henkilöä, voivat kilpailla ja yrittää kerätä mahdollisimman paljon pisteitä kolmesta viidestä rastista, tai voit tulla yksin ja tutustua uusiin ihmisiin sekä saada uusia kavereita. Parhaat pistemäärät saavuttaneet palkitaan myös ESN:n erikoispalkinnoilla! Lajeina ovat Saving Drunk Teekkari, Canbee, Beaver Slinger, Bottle Fishing ja Skinnarila Theatre. ESN Lappeenranta is looking for new applicants for board and officer positions at the spring general meeting on 20.04.2026 at 16:00 in Auditorium 1316.

We are also looking for Finnish applicants. If you are interested in international student activities and want to help develop our activities, now is a great time to apply! Applications are accepted until 20.04.2026, and you can also apply during the ongoing general meeting.

Boards and officer roles are explained in the ESN Lappeenranta website (Activites -> News).

Important news: ESN Lappeenranta is organizing Spring General Meeting, where we will decide the coming Fresher Captain for Autumn and Spring semester and also restructuring the board. Everyone are more than welcome to participate, but anyone whom has an ESN Lappeenranta membership are allowed to vote.

ESN Lappeenranta has opened the search for the Fresher Captain position.

Do you want a cool light blue helmet for two semesters: Autumn of -26 and Spring -27? Are you a social butterfly and likes invite everyone on different hangouts and parties? Apply soon as possible, if the position woke your interest.

The tradional Bring-A-Finn Sitsit are back with the Kalevala theme this time. Come and join us for a mighty Kalevala like celebration where ancient tales come alive.

The Kalevala is Finland’s 19th-century national epic, a compiled collection of older Finnish and Karelian oral poems telling mythic tales of creation, magic, and heroism.

The old, wise and singing Väinämöinen, the skilled smith Ilmarinen, and other figures seek the magical, fortune-granting Sampo, while quests, rivalries, and song-magic drive events: Ilmarinen forges wondrous things. Väinämöinen travels and uses incantations, and the tragic youth Kullervo brings ruin through vengeance, until the Sampo is broken and cast into the sea, leaving a bittersweet ending that blends creation myths, heroic deeds, and moral cautionary tales that shaped Finnish culture.

Show off your cooking skills and share how great your guild is in the kitchen. Every guild will get a separate invitation from ESN Lappeenranta President a bit later. Or wanting to join right away with friends or alone, send a message to Vice President on Telegram .

Time and date: 18.2.2026 starting at 18:00

Rules:
1. Guilds and special status associations (ESN) can be represented by teams with a maximum of 4 team members participating in the competition.
2. Teams can choose one to three dishes to cook and therefore participate in three cooking categories: starter, main course, and dessert.
3. The food must be cooked in advance at the team’s selected suitable location, transported to the competition venue, and served to the judges. Plates and other serving equipment will be provided by the organisers.
4. Teams can choose any suitable food ingredients without any restrictions. All ingredients in the dish must be disclosed, and allergens must be pointed out.
5. The serving style is free and up to the team’s decision. The serving should be done on the same plate, with several forks and spoons provided for the judging team.
6. People of each team must be aware of the food safety rules and good cooking habits, and provide a safe experience. Please familiarise yourself with the rules and guidelines provided by the Finnish Food Authority. Link in the bio.
7. Winners are to be defined: one in each of the three categories (starter, main course, dessert), and the winner of the competition based on the overall amount of points.
8. A special prize can be given for one vegetarian dish that might be chosen from the entire competition, if it will be outstanding for taste, presentation, and ease of preparation.
9. When dishes are served at the competition, the pictures must be taken and uploaded to the guild’s Instagram according to the instructions given at the spot. The best and most outstanding post will be awarded for the quality of it. Pictures can be taken and posted by a person who is not on the team’s list, but it must be an organisation staff member, for example related to the social media and marketing team.
